l’ve got the foothold surrounds almost done.Just needs one more layer of 6 oz glass.Has 4 layers on it already.Hood sanded inside and filling in where the front latch was.(Sorry fx fans) lt’s almost ready to bond the liner into the hood once l get the underside of the latch area done.
The footholds was the last area needing work.So it’s close.Just a lot of other things going on with work and at home.And the amigos get a lot of attention.

So the ski finally made it to the painter! l’ll get some pics up this week to show the progress.l have a ton of hours in this build,mostly sanding.Still have to finish the hood and get that to the shop this week.
But have a customers ski that l’m repairing the scupper valve install because it leaked inside under the tray and then got a crack in the tray where water was coming out the top.It has a bunch of leaks that all need attention.This will keep me busy till the fx makes it back.

Sanding is the most time consuming thing. It has taken a solid week to sand all of the gelcoat down on my freak!
Before the ski left,l put a skim coat of fairing on the top of the rails to smooth them out.Will make a much better surface to lay turf.
Ski laid up on its side is getting ready to be sanded.And a picture of the bottom with a little bit more work.
And the graphics l just got yesterday. closer..

Been working on a turf job and had some time to glue some purp on the fx handlepole pad.Got that from @brapperdoodle thanks! The light makes it look almost blue

She’s home,well at least some.Handlepole looks good.Hood still is in the process.The purple (really lavender) turned out great! l think the bottom is correct as far as the shade goes.The white is very bright,different from the original color.But that could be the difference of gel coat too.We missed a few places that need to be gone over.A couple that l will have to look at every time riding.The tray is a bit lumpy,after getting some base color,but strong.padding will straighten that out

Nice. I would say your white is close to what it was in 94. All the original gel coated ones have 27-28 years of oxidation and yellowing. Lmk if you need help with those graphics.

The 5200 is dry to the touch,but have to wait a few more days before doing anything.Was reading the other day and found that 5200 could be sanded,so will sand out some of the high spots,then it gets a coat of white bilge paint.

Prepped the inside cleaning and washing with acetone before the bilge paint.Got one coat on yesterday.Sand tonight with 220 and apply another coat.Then let it dry for a couple days.Got some custom work “going” on soon.

That purple is perfect!Small update.Got her upright to put some 5200 all around the edges of the bulkhead.
Slick,ain’t she.Won’t be long before that changes
