So the “build” is actually starting now.Got her flipped over today and have the pump set in place (not aligned).Maybe before work tomorrow l can see how close the alignment is from where l first got the ski.

Working on getting several areas ready.Waiting on things that l forgot to get or assumed l had them on hand.Steering cable and woodruff key.Which l was told by one of our mods that the keys can be bought at Lowe’s of home depoo.
Got my bow eye installed, the CF ebox bracket,Pump lined up,But missing prop shims (another item that you thought l should have BK lol)
Spent three hours getting the scoop grate and ride plate leveled up.Not expecting that to be so far off.You can see from the pic how much difference there was between the two.Not sure what happened. But there must be some the way the pump tunnel was originally installed.I checked the alignment when l first got the ski,but did not check the depth of it.lt lined up well,so…Brings me to this past week.As a side note, the alignment is close to perfect.Very happy with that.
I started with making a small carbon piece that matched the shape of the bottom of the pump shoe.Which l then stuck it with some 5200.Then took a small belt sander and ground half the meat off the two from ride plate holes areas to drop the plate deeper. That got it a lot closer.Finished with tapering the ride plate on the leading edge to finish. May end up tapering more after the initial ride phase.Talking with others, this may create the nose to be further down when riding.Possibly offset by the tubbies?
Got the handlepole bracket mocked up but need to grab my hood from the paint shop before drilling any holes.l did cut a 2.25” hole for the cables to go thru, but that can be opened up a bit more without any issues.Just waiting to drill the other holes to bolt it down.
Also working on changing up my ebox wiring with @OCD Solutions and the new zeel from @Jr. Lots of spaghetti to get into one small box.
And hopefully not forgotten any other stuff for the build.Shooting for launch by the Chattanooga races. Not a bad goal,l hope to meet.

Looking good!

Good to know on the ride plate height. I have nothing to add, but I'll be sure to check that on mine before I send it off for paint.

Not really a lot that can be done.lf you were to “drop” the sj pump tunnel,it would mess up the alignment of the driveshaft. Not my idea, but you could possibly move the ride plate brass inserts a little deeper, but then what other problem are you creating?

And thanks Gabe

So just to add my experience, when I glassed in my pump tunnel I noticed it sits a bit low. I aligned my pump with the Cold Fusion tool and I noticed with the pump aligned properly, the entire tunnel sits about 1/4” lower than the FX tunnel. The noticeable low spot on my conversion is the intake grate hanging down below the bottom of the ski. I also did not remove the block mounts for the ride plate and they seem to be in a good position. If I remember correctly, on your conversion the block mounts had been cut away from the hull and then glassed back in place. I wonder if they were placed too low? Either way, it looks like you got it fixed up nice!
