Looks like I was wrong on how the water was getting in. I have a destroyed foothold on the right. I can't tell on the left just yet.

Yes.

Before anyone asks, no, I didn't reinforce the footholds, I shouldn't have to. My old 24/7 footholds were still strong as hell when I took them out to put these in after 4 seasons.

I cannot remember if I did any reinforcement on mine!!!!!!!!!!!!! crap...........
call steve, see if he will warranty them. I actualy do like mine more than my old 24/7's

I'm just really pissed right now, I've got to tear it apart less than 2 years after putting them in, in the middle of the good riding season here, and replace turf, etc etc.

I really can't believe how thin they are.

Send them back to Steve. He said anytime there is a problem he would take care of it.

Yes, cut them out and send them back:bad3:

When people ask me on installation instructions, I always reccommend to re-inforce the tray all the way inside the footholds with some good bi-axial mat. I do this in all of my installations .

this also can sometimes happen when the foam behind the foothold has shrunk and not give it a proper backing, especially on the exhaust side.

I did infact follow these directions when I installed my set previously.

It seemed to help with strength.

Hey Steve, why not go ahead and reinforce the footholds to begin with. I am with Darin on the 24/7's, I took mine out several times, the only time I had issues with them cracking is from the removal process where they were glued in really well and the foam was adheared the the backs. Now I am wondering how mine are going to hold up.

I do have biaxial on them, all the way in on the flat part and across the vertical sections.

Do I need to cover the entire foothold with biaxial?

it would be silly to send back the holds, just reinforce them from the outside and dig out the foam from the exhaust hole.

If I have to cover them with biaxial anyway and they are just a 'form' for my own glass, then I'm not sure why I need new ones to lay my own glass on. I'll just take them out, glass them properly, and put them back in and save the money on shipping.
