that, my friend, is a result of not re-inforcing the tray and also not having support underneath the foothold (no foam) therefore tearing the glass apart .

I started tonight. I'm replacing my 24/7 Millenium (old style) footholds with Watercraft Factory new style, doing 25mm underpad, refoaming, reinforcing inside, moving my trim cable, etc.

So far I have the left side and bottom turf off, and have semi-destroyed the left foothold. One thing, I put these suckers in there properly, and 24/7 footholds are TOUGH, which makes taking them out a NIGHTMARE.

Are you looking at the same pics I am? I poured the foam in like 10-12 pours, with the ski vertical---that's why there was foam all the way inside the thin portion above the foot. There is also 3 layers of 10ounce biax on the tray going into the foothold about 2"

I can't believe it. My 24/7 footholds lasted 4 years with only Great Stuff behind/under them and they were still super strong.

Keep on making excuses for your paper thin footholds Steve. I'll reinforce them so they actually have some strength.

BTW, that spray paint you put on prevents anything from bonding, including the 3M I used. As soon as I cut the biax with my Dremel, it came right out.

Last time I checked a screen printing company was supplying and printing the shirts. I dont remember Darin saying he mfg'ed the Shirts......... But, I guess this would be the same as if you were having somebody else build your hulls and holds.

Totally unbiased, but something doesn't look right with that foothold install. And not knocking on Steve, but I wouldn't have installed those paper thin footholds to begin with. What did you think was going to happen? No offense of course.

And at least they cracked and stayed installed, instead of completely ripping out, hydroturf and all :wall: :laugh2:

This thread makes me want to puke for installing these holds. I thought they seemed a little thin, but since it was my first install I didn't question it too much. I did put a layer of 1708 on the tray though. I am also probably lighter than most, so maybe I will get lucky and not destroy mine.
