I am diggin it bro. You nailed it on the head as for the handling. Low end and up high an easy boat to ride and recovers easy from tricks too. Its not the XFS or Q8 but for me is a better all around hull.
My hull was like 65# assembled with pole bracked, hood and hardware as well as pumpshoe and intake. Havent gotten a rtr weight on it but it is light compared to anything I have owned for sure.
There are some downfalls of course as there is on ANY HULL. While the intake is LONG it seems to lose hook up quicker than the FS2 going up the face of wakes (I think this is part of the flatwater BF issue) I am working with a few different intake grate designs to see if we can improve this. DONT GET ME OR closin1 wrong, this hull will flatwater flip better than ANY SJ hulls and better than alot of other aftermarket hulls but we are always trying to get the best of both worlds.
The hull also seems to want to pearl a little if certain situations as it rides really nose down when on plane. (nothing drastic) But again we are critiequing here right?
IMO this is an great riding hull. Way lighter than a Rickter of any kind (even the glass hull is way lighter). The glass hulls seem to be holding up to a tremendous amont of torchure without failing and that is awesome at a hull / hood weight of 90# assembled.
For the money it is definately the hull to buy. If you have $6500 to spend and like a great fit and finish then the Rickter is AWESOME, the handling is very nice, the footholds are incredible and the lokks are SOOOOOOOOO DOPE, but if you want an awesome hull that is just as nice for different reasons for about $4200 to your door then the ROK is the ticket IMO.
I have built a few and we have some more here for Toby to assemble and I will have more when I can get them. NICE HULLS just not a BF only hull, but there are trade offs when buying them also.
I still think if you can flatwater flip an XFS or Q8 then you can prolly do the same on this hull. But if your learning and its critical for you then maybe the XFS of Q8 will be best for you.
Bottom line is this boat has me wanting to ride EVERY FREAKN DAY.
There are my thoughts on it.
