RRP FS-1 (World Final Preview)

the online audio was absolutely horrible. Horrible. They wasted their time and money to set that up. At one point I heard a wowie followed by thirty seconds of silence. That was great. I almost felt like I was there and could see the moves in my head. I mean, who can't visualize a "oooh wow"? In my head it was a double backflip with no setup.....

Yes shorter in the mid section
Chuck and Pat let me ride one on fri which I appreciate and they felt pretty good to me.It felt like riding my wamiltons hull ,very stable.

Love the innovation , comes all painted in 2 different schemes and turfed.
Pretty impressive for the price. I didn't think they would be priced that well.
Personally I would like one not painted so I could do it myself but the paint and decals are done very clean as well as the turf.
Not impressed with the finish inside though

The decals and turf on malones boats was poorly done to say the least

I agree
Why can't Scott F get up a good webcast like Harbour Beach tour stop.
Pretty lame being it's the WF

30 foot backflip? any pics?

30’ back flip???? What ever!!! I was there and saw the entire contest. The announcer obviously had no since of scale, I doubt he’s even seen a tape measure! He was calling the wind waves on the lake 3-4’ when they were actually 1’-18” The competitors were going hugh for flat water, I’m definitely giving them that, but the biggest I saw (which was off the double up 3’ boat wakes) was probably in the 15-18’ range.

Sucks that Bun protested, and all of this is going down so ugly. However, just like in other top racing sports where there are guidelines to make the competition fair for all who participate, this probably had to happen sooner than later for the people who write the books to wake up. This may very well result in some needed rule changes for freestyle. IMO I think in regards to freestyle any aftermarket hull should be allowed, in other words bring it if you got it! It's not a race, it's seeing who can pull the crazyiest chit.

The hull and motor rules should only apply to races IMO. Look at freestyle MX, there isn't any rules that I'm aware of for bikes to match eachother.

The silver lining in all of this is: I was at the finals , like most of you, and we saw how each ski performed. The RRP hull gave a small but nevertheless clear advantage to the riders, which in the end is what the large manufacturers look for when designing future ski's. We may be witnessing just what needed to happen for the sport to progress another notch performance wise.

My hats off to the crew at RRP and at X Metal/Scream for a job EXTREMELY well done!

Am I the only one that finds it a little odd that the sales guys did not know the weight, only that the carbon was 20lbs lighter than the glass hull? Don't get me wrong, I am NOT being skeptical, just curious. I am extremely happy to see someone thinking/building outside the box. Jeff had the vision to think outside the box, just cant seem to get his act together to deliver it.

quit talking about waterdawg... you are just showing how uninformed you are... don't believe all the internet hype, he has probably delivered more hulls and hoods than anyone in the sport this year... and I do believe that Jeff is the reason for the innovation in this sport. No one was doing anything till he made the xjet then the rev, then all the sudden it blew up... he made a billet motor before the rest too..

ADA and Able were doing billet cylinders/heads back in the early 90's.

Nothing personal, but several companies have been making innovative hulls, hoods, and composite parts for a long time. Wamilton, Rick Pot, Bullet, Westcoast, and others were making way cool composite hulls long before Jeff had ever been heard of. I'm not knocking his ideas or plans, but to credit him with all the innovation in the "sport" is naive(IMO). He also didn't make the first billet cylinder. ADA, Able, and the Japs, have been making them since back in the early to mid nineties for mod racing. The ADA cylinder I'm running was made in '97 or '98.

my point was Gil knows nothing about what Jeff has delivered... he's assuming things based upon people on this site...

I understand your point on the innovation though...

another thing.. show me these hulls that were not just splashes of OEM's.. Your XFT is just a superjet... what's so innovative about that??

Also, jeff makes his own cases too.. Waterdawg until EME and Rickter was the only company I can think of that makes a ski from scratch... his own mold. Correct me if I am wrong (you guys have been around longer) Even Trinity w/ all his glory is just splashing OEM's now...

Really??? Go smoke another blount. I have ordered 4 WDK Diablo kits from Jeff and every time he says , hey, they are on the shelf ready to ship, and 4 monthes later I recieve them. That was my point. Further more, I feel that they are a bargain, but with bargains, you get what u pay for!!!
1 of the 4 hood kits I bought was pretty good, the other 3 were complete crap!!! I am not bitching like most members of the X about the qaulity because I knew I was getting was what I was paying for. I have spent 2400.00 with him and reserve the right to say his service sucks azz. How bout u Nick???

PJS, Laser Jet, Wamilton (SJ's and Blasters back in the mod rules days, ever see a full carbon Wammer Blaster, sick stuff), Cobb's Jet Ski Factory, etc.

Jeff is innovative, but it's not like the stuff he's doing has never been done before.

What makes a name/reputation is taking some idea and taking it to a new level which Jeff has. Chris Maros took freestyle parts to a new level with his hoods and handlepoles. Wamilton did it with paint/footholds/scuppers/tons of stuff. Blowsion has done it too, but in different areas.

wow Nick, I read it that Gil is/was supporting Jeff and how he does think outside the box.

I don't even know what a blount is... and everyone has shipping probs. now and then... I'm sure every hood you ordered took 4 months... yeah, ok...

The XFT is the only hull besides a LightweightDE that has locations to bolt on full length "Tubbies" or sponsons. Dont know anybody else doing that. Oh, as far as splashing goes. Based on yesterday, if your gonna compete, you have to be on an exact replica of the ski that you care competing on. So, an SXR based hull has to be just like an SXR. A Superjet has to be just like a SJ. Hell, They could claim that a WCF hull is illegal because of the sides being cut out.

Ever seen a Wammer hull with the hood off, you know the 2 tabs where the stock dash would rivet to the hull is. Yup, Wammer even includes these to conform to the rules.

Dude, who put the first 750 engine in a 550? Any clue? Who was first to put a 1100 Kawi engine in a 750SX?

You're missing the point. Jeff is not the first person to ever take a different engine and put it in a different hull. It's been done before. He's not the first person to build a billet cylinder. He's not the first person to build a hull from scratch and sell it.

Yes, he is innovative.

Take your blinders off.
