You dont understand how happy i am to hear that!!! Phew.

I can't tell you how pissed off I am to here that! Granted you're going to add a good bit of weight with fittings, motor plates, glue, rivets, etc. but there's no way you'll add 30-35lbs to equal about where mine would be bare. I'm curious to know where you stand once it's built.

As nice as 47.7lbs sounds, this great inconsistency between the different hulls is a bit strange, no?

I could see mine being 10-12 heavier with plumbing foam , scupper, and mounts. what not . but my weight was with out a hood .( mine weighed 9) Dons was with .
I also used a bathroom scale . I am sure fed ex scales are accurate.

I think the biggest inconsistency is that no one has weighed the same components. It may seem like this component and that component will weigh roughly the same and therefore balance each other out.

Sanoman didn't say he weighed all the glue that he's going to have to use or the big honkin' engine mounting plates, battery plate, ride plate mounts, etc. Chad's isn't turfed or painted. My scale accurately measures my weight but it is a fairly cheap scale and therefore could be significantly less accurate in the lower weights. I do know that if the weight is shifted one way or the other, it could greatly affect what the scale reads.

John,
I'd hit the freakin roof if your ski actually comes in at that weight! You guys have been real democratic in keeping negative comments to a minimum, but from the outside looking in it makes me a little crazy to hear all these inconsistancies! I'd be all up in Highrollers ear if one ski is way off in weight from another and the only difference is who layed them up.

Bashing someone based on rumors and best guess is useless. Facts based on first hand knowledge is different. If you caught a VD from some girl, would you chalk it up to a bad decision or would you inform your friends not to go near her?

If you notice, I was tearing through my build at Mach 5 and then just stopped. I haven't posted the really bad stuff that my hull has wrong with it. I'm trying to handle my situation like an adult. If Dan is willing to take responsibility and make it right, I will quietly fix everything and post the final results in a very politically correct manner. If he's not willing to take responsibility, then I feel I have an obligation to friends on here to post the facts.

What he said

even though waternut ordered the completed thing, you have to remember that the kit is only 1500$! Not to mention that hes working alone now! Can you imagine the work load he has? Everyone just went crazy on these things, its not possible for everyone to be satisfied. Were paying for the build up kit, not the hull itself.

my stunt hull, top and bottom bonded togehter, some home-done reinforcement, engine bed plates, mid wall, but no hood was 71lbs..

That's about what it was supposed to be. Chad's hull is a little different without a doubt because it was laid up by a different person.

Hopefully this explanation will help shed some light on the issue. I weighed my hull at 90lbs but it had a 3 lb pole mount (I weighed it) and I want to say the metal pump shoe was around 3 lbs (guess). So that would bring it down to 84lbs. Then you add about a quart of paint, hardener, and reducer so that's got to be another 3-5 lbs (guess). A full sheet of turf isn't weightless but it is pretty light and so is padding so figure 1-2 lb (guess) for that. I did use a full quart of contact cement so that's gotta be a good 3-5 lbs (guess). After all is said and done, figure my hull was more like 73-78 lbs bare.

Don't forget that the majority of weight in paint and contact cement evaporates.
