The Front Flip

tried Off the back-side of a wave when I had a reverse trimed race ski with footholds. Crashed pretty hard upside down but it seemed possible with some technique and off where its deep(which is hard because 9 out of ten times the frontside of a wave is obviously shallow).

I think the only chance anyone has of doing the front flip will be riding down the face of a big wave, and getting sucked to the top of the wave when it's starting to curl. If the lip can rotate and push the ski out, there's a chance of doing a front flip. Good luck landing and riding out. Chances of landing 1:1000

...and chances of dying are 1:10

If I may chime in, I think that to attempt to perform this trick you would need specially modified parts:

1. Drop nozzle, possibly v. quick and strong, e.g hydraulic / pneumatic

2. In order to allow the rider to throw his body weight forward without jumping off the tray I think a foldable (by inserting one into the other) handlepole that could be unclocked by device operated from the bars.

I also think that the valiant pilot could try to do it just before the tip of the wave...?
