the trivial complaints thread

Any well drillers or plumbers here? Local water company wants 4800 bucks for water meter, poo grinder, and sewer hookup. Could i get septic setup and well for less than that? There are two old spring houses less than 800 ft from property so i know at one point there was a water source nearby.

No way, probably $7-8000 would be more accurate...but the well is a gamble on how far they drill, or if they even hit water the first time. City utilities are nice because you don't have to worry about running dry or maintenance issues...

I know, it just sucks we had budgeted for half that cost based on estimates from our builder. We agreed to cover the cost outside of the construction loan to keep our build budget on track. It just annoys me that i have to pay it out of pocket.

Prices will generally b diff depending on area ur in. All new sewer and main water lines to street I've done ranged from 2500 - 6/8000. Septic is big money for new pit and cess pool. Never done tho.
I also live in one of most exp. areas north nj just outside nyc

You should just go ahead and assume that every stage of the home building process is going to be like this.
I know. Its already got me worried that we will blow our budget. I was able to cut out about 25k for things I can do my self, but that savings is being eaten up by bs costs that keep popping up.

Jeep died at a busy intersection today on the way to work.. I ended up pushing it across 4 lanes with an incline followed by intense hamstring and calve cramps.. If anyone knows why a 1996 Jeep Cherokee would just die with no spark let me know... Or if anyone has a 4 door truck they want to sell let me know.

I bought a cheap code reader to keep in the truck for just such occasions. Nothing like a $150 tow bill to find out all you needed was a $24 cam/crank sensor. Which btw is going to be my guess is your culprit. Either that or fuel pump.

They totaled my truck off today so I've been vehicle shopping all day.

I've gotten really cheap or vehicles have gotten really expensive! F me!

I'm seeing the same thing. I'll be waving some cash under some noses tomorrow to see if that changes anyone's tune.
The other weekend on the way to the store we seen a 05 ford 350 4 door long bed dually 4X4 sitting for sale. We were wanting a larger truck to pull my CAT. Stopped looked at it then bought it of the guy. had 105,000 miles and not a flaw. doctors wife used it to pull her horse trailer had always been serviced at the dealer. Was an amazing deal. We then sold our 05 ford 250 4X4 in a day 157,000 miles ran great but had a lot of rust, we called it rust Jones. Sold it for 5,300.00

Installed my lift kit on my 75 jeep saturday. It stretched the rear brake hose bad so i ordered a new hose for it. Ended up replaci g brake li es to both rear wheel cylinders and the line from proportioning valve to flex hose as well. Now the pass side rear brakes won t work at all. The joys of trying to breathe life into a rusty old jeep. Now im most likely going to have to replace wheel cylinders as well. Nothing like a fun project taking a turn for the worse.
