Installed a used torrent 148 in the reaper. New skat impeller and new bearings. Spent at least an hour getting the drive shaft lined up perfectly. Gave the engine a once over, cleaned the carbs put the wax v3 timing curve on the zeel. She starts right up runs for about 10 seconds and she dies with an awful sound.. Pulled the tank back out and check the flywheel thinking the bendix or starter got stuck (also installed new brass bushings) Ended up being my pump is froze! Not sure if its the impeller stuck or the bearings yet.. I pulled the pump out, could not get it to budge with a wrench, said f it, and started drinking... Odd thing is I was able to spin it no problem by hand before installing her. Was a little tight but figured that was the new seals..

No idea, came with the pump. I did notice the splines are a bit shorter compared to the one Sasquatch or whatever his name is makes. Would the driveshaft cause it to freeze?

Do you have the own rubber washer installed behind the prop? Had same issue.... removed it and it was fine.

Nevermind I think that's it. Washer is so tight in the bearing area it won't move and I can see where prop wore into it..

This thing. Bearings are fine and spin freely.. I had it face down.

installed mine notch side down.... you might check with Jetmaniac about any thickness issues with those washers

I hate it when you go to get something out of your toolbox and it’s not there. Trying to get my ski together and my dang driveshaft holder is mia. My hd Prop tool is where it’s supposed to be and the wrench for it. Can’t use one without the other. I tore my garage apart last night looking.
