Laserjet owners Unite... lol

I have an F-15 and I love how light it is compared to my 750sxi. Mine dosent run proper though cause I hear they are supposed to put out numbers similar to my 750 but they are worlds apart.

I spent most of the day fitting the pump plug into the ski.lots of cutting grinding and cussing going on here.I am trying to do as much in the alignment dept. now as possible so I don't have issues after I glass in the pump tunnel.I think the alignment is pretty much spot on at this point.I am using the 900 ZXI driveshaft which gives this boat the same engine setback as the FXI,although the engine seems way set back to me,thats the way its going in so I have to roll with it now.Next on the agenda is to finish up the plug and pop a mold, neither needs to be pretty since its basically a one shot deal.Time to get out the bondo, resin and glass and get itchy.Pics to come later my camera batteries are dead.

Pump mold has been popped, she's a beauty,I hate sanding inside pump tunnels so I have some slight patching to do to the mold .Since it will see at least two uses by me I am going to go ahead and reinforce it with plywood and gelcoat it,that way I can spray gelcoat directly on the mold before I start glassing and not have to do a lot of sanding inside the pump tunnel, mainly because I hate sanding inside the pump tunnel.I will post pics weakly.

Sprayed the mold with gelcoat yesterday,I also sprayed the X2 foothold plugs while I was at it,I spent several hours sanding gelcoat today, not fun but its almost there now.I will try and get some pics up tomorrow.

Waiting on Gelcoat and PVA to show up,I am not fooling with the mold other than waxing it till I get it.Did I mention that I hate sanding inside pump tunnels ? At any rate I did get the front half of the inner liner glued back in since its location is fixed, the rear half of the inner liner is not quite so fixed just yet.I mixed up some epoxy and cabosil gooped it on laid the inner liner in place clamped it on the sides and piled as many old batteries on top of it as I could for weight,it worked quite nicely.

Nice Build!!

I have a few Brand New 800cc version of this motor rated at 90HP that was never released to the public. Very powerful motor.

Pics of the pump tunnel mold as promised ,also some pics of the Styrofoam flotation out of a donor TS.The pump tunnel mold was splashed off of a TS also,it is kind of strange but the TS has a smaller pump tunnel box area than an SX or X2. Thats wax on the first pics of the mold,on a new mold you want at least 10 coats of wax followed by PVA so the pull comes out clean plus I usually store the molds with a good coat of wax like that for protection. For those of you that don't exactly know what you are looking at the mold is a reverse mold of the inside of the pump tunnel, the mold is fixed into place in the ski, waxed, sprayed with PVA and then sprayed with gelcoat, after that you start laying the glass or in this case carbon fiber up against the gelcoat on the mold overlapping to the hull, when you are finished you seperate the mold from the new pump tunnel and voila! you have a new carbon fiber pump tunnel.

So I had a chance to pop the mold into the hull and I said what the hell, lets do it! So I now have a new carbon fiber pump tunnel, not quite perfect but given its my first effort building anything out of Carbon fiber I think it turned out ok.I have a lot of gelcoat repairs to do,not sure what happened there as I waxed the mold about ten times then PVAed it.I can only assume since the humidity was so high that the PVA did not fully cure ,making removing the mold a sunny beach to say the least. No sweat on the gelcoat hell I do it for a living and have repaired much worse than this. :soapbox:
