SHINE M.F'er SHINE!!!

You learn something new everyday... I never compounded anything before. So far seems to becoming out really nicely. First run at compounding complete. Going to repeat 2 more times, tomorrow. Ordered the last of the glass needed for the first layers of the mold yesterday. Target date to spray tooling surface and layup the skim layers is NEXT Sunday. Taking the GF to Atlantic City tom, hopefully I win enough to build the entire boat in CF...lol

Sorry for using the attachment feature, I dont have my PC to FTP the pics to my website. The lines you see on the nose of the ski are reflections of the tents support posts....sweet!

I am trying to dial in the perfect mixture of 423 Graphite, 422 Barrier coat (aluminum powder), and 406 cabosil....so I can get REPRODUCIBLE quality on the external "gelcoat". I did one last weekend with 423 only, so today I decided to do one with all the other componants that I will really be using and document the ratios. Here is the panel, after I broke it in half and it took a few wacks with a hammer. I broke it before it was even close to fully hardened, :grumble: because now I cannot even bend it. oh well I want to bag the next one, this was just hand layed backed by 2 layers of 1708.

I'll snap some pics of the 24/7 sh_t hull. But the cracking is in multiple spots....unfortuntaly if he takes his in the surf I bet it will do the same.

For the bottom deck I am splashing the one I bought from mark as the plug, so it will have the SJ styled nose and intake/pump mods. Just have to fix it up to new shape. As soon as I lift two topdecks, I am going to start on the bottom. Expecting that to be late March/early april.

The amount of work going into this makes my head hurt! AMAZING!

Pete we WILL get you in a lightweight! It will take sometime to get it all done, but it WILL happen.

Thanks everyone else for the good words. I have a 3 day weekend off from work, so I will be attacking this. Should have good progress to show by Sun.

In order to keep my build thread friendly and to respect the moderators.....I will not state my opinion on the topic of Mark. I would definetly be violating the "BE RESPECTFUL" button.

Delayed due to weather (and my job). Too cold today to do the initial mold layup and I got called into work yesterday. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Have the plug fully waxed (7times) and ready for PVA and the rest of the tooling process.

Wrapped it up in drop cloth to protect it during this week. Really hoping that it will be over 45F one day next Fri, Sat, or Sun.
