mine is not the best pic either, but I do believe it meets your standards. I could really care less what people have for an avatar. there are some pretty funny non-ski related pics for avatars on this site.
I just did it Saturday with my buddy. His SN died and I wound up having to tow it back, but with him on the back of my B1. All I saw was sky. The bow was pointing skyward the whole ride back. Even with me standing up leaning over the bars. He's about 175 and I weigh about 165. It was pretty...
We use the ramp at the lighthouse as well. It's literally like a 2 minute ride to get to the island. The only issue there is parking. If you don't get there early enough, you may not find parking. Doubt you will have any issues this early in the season and on a week day.
So true. I rode my stock 650 (backup ski) for 1 season. This winter I put on the following:
high compression head
46mm carb
Larger intake to match carb
two stage reeds
full frankenexhaust (no markings on it, but we think its a mariner).
flame arrestor
Now the ski finally has some snap.
if you do decide to flip it on its side, just be sure to keep the exhaust side down. I'm with everyone else, I wouldn't worry about the dings. If you are riding your ski, you will always have small dings on it. I'm pretty anal about my stuff, but I don't worry too much about the underside of my...
I got the line from my mechanic and have it on both of my skis. So far everything has been fine. I was thinking of using my heat gun on the line after I reconnect it to the return nipple on the carb. I'm hoping a little heat will shrink it around the barb and will seal better. I am also going to...
Water is supposed to be in the cylinder head, but not the cylinders. Did you mean water is getting into your cylinders? If so, it's usually due to a bad gasket or O-ring. What type of head do you have? Have you done a compression test or leak test?
ran it again today. It never ran away, but I only ran it for a few seconds. I noticed lots of air bubbles coming from the carb nipple at the return line. Got foamy when I revved the motor. Brand new clear lines on everything. Ill cut it back and try it again I guess.
Last weekend my versi-plug got stuck open when we were hanging in the shallows of my local lake. I noticed my ski was sitting low in the water. When I opened the hood the water was about an inch or two above the bottom of the cylinders. I hit the bilge and cleared the versi-plug and all was...
