No idea how long water was in it. There wasnt much. The starter corrosion is pretty bad, hoping it`s that simple, but gonna hve to prepare for the worst. Is the 650 worth rebuilding?
We are still working on my buddy's '90SN. Prior to removing the motor, we disconnected it from the midshaft and rolled it over. It was pumping water out about 15' in the air. We then removed the motor and dumped it out. Apparently the exhaust still had water in it and at some point my buddy...
We were rebuilding my buddy's '90 SN and were told two different ways to mount the carb. Based on the throttle plate and length of the cable, we have the carb set-up with the linkage facing the rear of the ski. This is also how it was prior to taking it apart. We were told by a very reputable...
Pump and hull are in great shape. Not trying to make it as fast as a 750, just trying to wake it up some. She is bone stock at the moment. I figured it was a good deal. Wanted some other opinions. Im not building to sell and make money. I want a back up ski with more oomph than stock.
So I picked up a 46mm carb in addition to some other parts for my back up 650sx. I was thinking of putting the 46 on my B1.
Current set up:
701 bored 2mm
ported cylinders
milled head (190-ish psi)
slightly advanced timing
44mm carb
Riva Red Pipe
Riva waterbox
Solas Concord 13/17
Worx 201?
JD...
So my mechanic called and said he had a 650sx hull with a blown motor and to come by and check it out.
Here's what I left with:
new-used bars. not quite straight, but straighter than stock.
Ocean Prop quick turn plate
46mm carb (to be swapped out with the 44 on my B1)
PJS exhaust
Ocean Pro...
I've never seen a set-up quite like the one on this SN. So from what I can see the smaller diameter hose connects to the thru hull fitting to connect to the scupper inside the hull. The one large hose go to the side of the pump, then the other hose just stays open to the water. is this correct...
We are rebuilding my buddy's '90 SN and were wondering if we should keep the stock scupper or just ditch it and go with an auto bilge?
He's running a ocean pro ride plate I think.
I was rebuilding the carb off my buddy's '90SN and I have a question about the pump side of the carb.
Starting from the carb body and working my way I installed the items in this order:
fuel filter
Paper gasket
rubber diaphragm
fuel pump body
paper gasket (this is the questionable gasket...
Now that's funny and probably very true. This is my back up ski. My primary ride is a modded B1 with lotsa goodies. I usually loan it to ski-less friends or it's my wife's ride when she's not riding my Blaster. Might pass on the ride plate after all the advice and just go with the scoop grate...
Cool thanks for the info. I just wanted something to make the ski handle a little better (even though she's 25 years old almost). I only ride the standup on lakes. Mostly buoy courses or just to throw around. The tail end slides all over the place now and I have issues when trying to carve...
