Definitely getting air in somewhere. Check the pump seal and, as others have mentioned, the midshaft. If not those, check the impeller and possibly the pump stator for any damage. I ride a stock intake grate in the surf and have no cavitation issues.

User preference really. Risers can help with fine tuning pole length by angling the bars forward or back.

The Solas pump is already the poor mans Mag pump lol. I don't know how much you could improve the stock pump on a lathe but if you have the will and resources, I'd say go for it.

Kinda look like my Rickter holds. I agree that you should get a sheet of turf instead of the mat kit. I have the mat kit on my ski and it sucked.

IMO the advantages of the A/M poles aren't worth the huge price tag. Especially the ones in the $1000 and up range. The stock pole is light, has a lot of A/M support, will help upright the ski if capsized, can be shortened, and can even be somewhat adjustable with a riser bar setup. I'd...

Always wondered how "different" the waves were between the east and west coasts. I'm looking to rocker my ski in the next few weeks with CarterB's kit. After riding skis with lots of rocker , I know I will benefit a lot from it in the surf.
