I've ridden a rocker'd, non-chopped SJ and it pretty much handled like normal on the flat stuff. Once in the surf, the rocker is very welcome modification. I haven't ridden a shortened SJ but I'd imagine that would have more of an effect on the handling than a rocker would.

Upgrading the stock steering should be the first thing to do. Like, don't even ride it until you replace the cable with a 96-07 one or a schmity1 cable. Steers like a container ship stock.

Would these fit an 08+ SJ?

Mine is just a block at the turnplate end of the cable. You have to drill a hole in the top for the screw. I'll see if I can find pics of mine.

Definitely worth it

Blowsion destroyers on my '10 and they are great all around. They weigh almost nothing too.

I experimented with this idea on my SJ. The change in feel is there but it's so subtle that I took them off. I've ridden a JB1 with them and it was the best AM ski that I've ridden. Of course I don't think it was all due to the fins. Those Aussies know a thing or two about what works though.

Buddy of mine runs a tightened rrp pole with no spring on his rickter. I cant even stand to ride it. Running a Blowsion spring on my SJ and it's perfect.

I have the Blowsion rope and I don't like it. I bent the carabiner clip that came with it, it rusts where the bungie attaches to the main rope, and if you extend the pole a few times, the loop that goes around the hood latch tightens and gets smaller. It also ripped the last time out on the...
