They are the same from +08 up. I have a dealer friend who just came back from a Yamaha convention in Puerto Rico and told me that they have no plans on discontinuing the Superjet. Sales are actually on the rise. No changes besides color/graphics are planned in the future.

Looks like you need a Waveraider/08+ Superjet nozzle to me. I run a Protec +20mm on my '10 Superjet after I broke a few stock nozzles. Been running great ever since.

Any dynos on a 701? Yamaha claims 73hp stock 62t.

No need to change the pole. Definitely ditch the stock cable. I ran schmity1's cable with stock pole and turnplate. Works fine. I have since upgraded to an aftermarket turnplate and flat bars. OP: I see you're from Wharton. A bunch of us ride surf down at Corson's Inlet if you want to...

yep. same top deck from 96 and up. same bottom hull from 90-07, 08 and up have different bottom hull design and a few minor tweaks.

I got my protec because i kept breaking the plastic ones. been holding up great so far. didnt really notice any big difference in the extended nozzle.

08 Superjets came from the factory with dual 38mm mikuni carbs. That means someone switched over to a single carb at some point. I guess you could measure the bore of the carb to find out what's on there.

shorter nozzle will be easier to pull. i have the 20mm protec and it works fine
