If you wind out (richen) you high and low mixture screws 1/4 turn anticlockwise does it improve?

No Dan it sits an inch in front of the scupper/firewall.

You can install it just in front of the scupper drain.

I've had major issues, but I do have a stigmatism and tend to hit the water face first a bit :)
