Interestingly the splines inside the midshaft look fine to me. There is some wear at the end of the midshaft near the o-ring groves but other than that the midshaft looks OK. Now while there might not be much wear on my splines the portion of the shaft where the O-rings ride is too rusted to...
I agree that would make the most sense but with where I have my breather hoses zip tied my cable isn't long enough for that. If I untie the breather hose it wants to interfere with the foam block for the pipe. But it just occurred to me that I may be able to cross the hoses way up in the nose...
For those of you with XFR's or XFS's running a lay down pipe and front fuel tank, how do yaw run your steering cables? I have a rad dudes fuel tank and I don't really want to have to run the steering cable under the tank as that would require a lot of additional padding to raise the tank up...
Here are some pics of my current planned layout. The 2 aft mounts will be easy but the 2 up front I'm still not sure about. If I mount them flush on the hull the bumpers are at a pretty steep angle.
Hey,
I'm working on installing/mounting strap hooks for a Rad Dudes Broni Fuel Tank in my XFR and I was wondering how some of yaw have gone about securing your aftermarket tanks. If anyone is willing to share pics of how they have their aftermarket tanks secured or has any advice from past...
It wasn't from either of them. It looks like mine was modified from one of the oem Yamaha shafts that has the hardened tip on it like you mentioned earlier.
I got a bit more information about what likely happened. It looks like my shaft likely had the extra hard splines that comes on some Yamaha triple skis. The end of the shaft where the splines are is fusion welded on the main shaft by Yamaha. They are extra hard to handle the triples power, but...
I packed the midshaft with the blue BRP grease when I assembled everything. That stuff is the most water proof grease I know of. As for the shaft I am told that it is a OEM shaft that's been cut and welded to length. I will say that when I was aligning the Pump there was definitely some runout...
Hey yaw,
This past weekend I discovered that my midshaft was essentially seized onto my driveshaft. Everything still spun nice and easily but It was a royal pain to get the midshaft off the driveshaft. Ended up having to use a 10lb slide hammer. Anyways I'm trying to figure out what could have...
Good to know on that other Pipe.
So what are the advantages of having all the weight as far forward as possible? I'm assuming that would allow for more height but slower rotations when flipping?
I mean mine should work for both of them once I am finished, although you would have to bolt the Ebox back to its old location. l will take some better shots of it later. But I used M8 UFO mounts, with a couple layers of carbon to mount the Ebox beside the carbs and then secured the Ebox with...
Check out this video from TC Freeride. It goes through the full install. But if you just start at 17:00 there are some good shots of where he has them and it's further than I expected.
Here is a screenshot too.
I figured I would give one of the offset 2" couplers a try before I resorted to cutting. Here is the link to the one I ordered. It came out to be like $40.
