I bet your hood hooks/prongs in rear are too tight and not allowing the front to sit all the way down. A strap isnt necessary but it sure is good insurance to prevent the hood on any ski from shifting after taking a good flop or role in the surf.

Heres how i did mine. It fits real snuggly now. Doesnt move at all. I Cut the front half off the mounts and removed the front inner battery mount. I glues 1in under padding to the ribs to pad the tank sides and turf on the belly.
Its a skidoo/sled inspired motor correct? so maybe? Im sure its exorbitant and any cross over would be welcomed assuming it enables more support for parts...right? Im still a huge fan, and hope this all works out and helps build the sport back up
Damn thay sucks! Did you helicoil the shoe? Im just curious, how the failure might have happened. Bad metal quality or improper installation or just bad luck or a combination of things?
