Super Jet Need advice to improve handling on SN SJ

you'd be better off tryn to find an aluminum sn pole, fiberglass poles will eventually have issues and are heavy, keep your eyes open for good sn pole, I got my ac pole in great shape no dents with bushings for 200$ shipped

Super Jet Need advice to improve handling on SN SJ

I've been playn around with my sn handling for a awhile and finally found what I feel is perfection, remember its still a sn not and 08 or sxr, blowsion tubbie 1's mounted 3mil above bottom rail, rear sponsons, -2 pole, west coast O (finned) ride plate shimmed 4mil on rear screws, mag pump with...

701 61x dual cooling fittig on head

That's an interesting way of doing it but yes, that looks to me like a front cylinder water tap, not dual cooling but dual exits, I can't exactly remember stock pipe water routing but it looks like you should have that small line to pipe and each cylinder dumping overboard separately

    Single carb vs dual

You could have two skis same year and setup, absolutely identical and one would run better than the other, why because that's just the nature of the beast. The other weekend I rode 2 brand new bone stock 2014 superjets, one was a turd and other wasn't too bad for being stock

Newb ada head compression question for my SJ

Can you get a hold of the guy you bought it from? Who knows what's in there that's giving you high compression with out tearing it down, cylinder may be decked who knows. Ignition timing is another key factor for your fuel selection not just compression alone, I'd still try another gauge even...

    Super Jet 40:1 or 50:1

I only r-50 too, can't beat the price and probly one best oils out there, castor927 is king but pricey and clogs power valve motors, r-50, bellray, hp2 all have a synthetic version of bean oil(castor oil) wont break down and will stay stuck to cylinder walls under high rpm and high heat also...

    Super Jet 40:1 or 50:1

If your jetted for 40:1 why change it?, changing oil ratio=changing jetting, quality of oil is more important than quantity

    Dual sbn38's on 61x vs 62t cases

Agreed, best combo I found with 61x cases, trust me I wasted alot of time and money tryn every combo, was 46fullspec with a wetjet intake with dual stage reeds. If your wanting more power spend some money tuning your pump, carbs will only make small improvements but pump/prop make huge...

    Dual sbn38's on 61x vs 62t cases

I made the switch last summer, had single 46fullspec on 61x and changed to 62t with twin 46blackjacks, the single hit way harder down low but had issues up top with running lean that was hard to tune out, the twins have a much smoother power delivery and gained around 3-4mph. Every setup is so...

    Dome size

I'm in fortcollins(5,000ft), also run ada head, 31's=180-185 33's=165-170, I run 31's on pump gas no issues with 3mil advance, enhancer, drypipe, and ported, I've found that 195 is the mark for race fuel at least for my boat, I'd think your fine with the 31's but every combo can be different, if...

Freestyle Engine blew-10 hours into it- who is @ fault?

The argument at hand!, this guy feels like he got screwd and he choose to use junk parts and now ages later he's pissed, now were tryn to diagnose the motor with technical bs, 10hrs? Put an hour meter on it before you guess, 10hrs is a lot more than most think, my limited sj gets less than on an...

hooker or skat trat impeller ?

Hooker 9/15 is a great if not the best all around prop for 144 sj pumps, you need a lot of power to pull a 10/16, I tried a 10/16 on a wicked limited sj and had to put a stubby cone on it to help it unload better cause it was way over propped, even then it was no comparison to the 9/15

    Tubbies

Not tryn to knock original parts because I agree that nothing beats the real deal but I got some re-pop tubbies off ebay, no foam, used 5200 epoxy, siliconed leading edges, with bolts and haven't had a single issue I've just enjoyed the added handling.

    44mm carbs on a 701

Cutting prop is better but different washers is a great way to tune and find out exactly how much to cut and that's exactly why I said I wasn't sure what proper PUMP SET BACK was, still not confused
