With enough water in the engine area the ski will run sluggish.
I would pull the flywheel cover off and check everything for that noise. See if the stator is lose and/or if the bendix is sticking.
Well in the state of Texas, if you have a ski at the state parks, it has to be registered with legal stickers. Regardless if it is being put in the water or not. Ask me how I know :)
Correct. Just don't screw in the puller screws in more than like an inch and you will be good.
Be sure not to lose the woodruff key once you remove the flywheel. Its an important piece.
To me its running more fuel line, adding more fittings, having to drill a hole in the ski to hold the bulb.
More areas for failure for air/fuel leaks. 9 times out of 10 I have to put fuel in the tank at the start of a weekend so whats another 10 seconds to use my hand to "choke" the carb.
Don't run a primer. Once you start a ski it should be good to go the rest of the day or even weekend.
Stick your hand over the carb furthest away from the tank til it starts and be done with it.
Easy to remove. I recommend getting the cold fusion flywheel lock or finding a friend who has it. Steering wheel puller will get it off once the bolt is out.
Anything lightened on a rotating mass (if balanced correctly) will improve performance.
As long as you install the stator correctly the...
Yeah I read that you were planning on redoing it all with different stuff. Just throwing an idea out there to hide some of the lines. I wish I would have thought to put my pissers near the tray of mine. To late now. Lol
So I saw the water line routing you did a few pages back. Is it possible to run the head water lines towards the back of the ski straight from the head? Instead of going forward then going back to the pissers?
Small update. Decided it was time for a small engine upgrade so I picked up a 865ss with all the fancy xscream stuff. I have already had it in the water and the pissers have a nice flow of water and not hot so I think the routing will work. Need to adjust the b-pipe screws a little.
It takes 5 minutes to see what the stator looks like. You dont have to replace any gaskets, no new parts to buy (yet). At least you will know that it is set correctly.
Maybe close the spark plug gaps and see what happens.
