Thanks fsg.
There would be a whole bunch of my friends there that could help me carry them across the beach (JS550 and SJ). I would probable leave the cart at home - Less crap to try to haul over the dunes. I'm going to call later and try to talk to someone else.
If it is completely...
Does anyone know if you can haul your standups to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Beach? We have a big weekend with friends planned there and the closest Lake Michigan access is 9 miles north in Pentwater.
I would be willing to put them in my truck and drag them across the dunes if they let me...
Back in the day, the registration was also a certificate of ownership. It even had a place on the back to sign it over to the new owner. At some point, they started to require a title. If you take a Bill of Sale to the S of S, they can request a new title. I have done it many times. As long...
Did you check compression before you bought it? May have had weak compression in that cylinder already.
Pull the head and you'll know very quickly if this is a cheap or expensive fix. Whatever you do, make sure you determine why it happened before you repair it. I have seen too many guys...

Too bad someone wasn't there to laugh at me. Although, I probably would have been pissed off at the time since I was in pain. But later on, I would have had someone laugh my a$$ off with. The story doesn't do it justice.
I can't see any cracks in the hull. One of the ride plate inserts...
Hopefully, someone will find this as humorous as I did.
Yesterday, I was wrenching on my old 550. I dropped a washer down in the engine compartment - not the first time. I had both arms wedged under the exhaust trying to use my finger tips to pick up the washer without shoving it further...

I didn't use carpet foam. I used a closed cell phone for marine applications and you can submerge it and it won't take on water . Many places sell this foam (http://www.foamforyou.com/Closed_Cell_Foam.htm). Assuming that a Yoga mat is made of closed cell, then this will work well...
If you're like me, and don't feel like shelling out $60 bucks (+shipping) for Hydro Turf, you may want to give this a try. I purchased some heavy vinyl weave (auto fabric) and closed cell phone. I used 1" foam for the base and 3/8" foam for the sides. I used rubber cement to adhere the fabric...
