Definitely shorten that pole, put a good steering setup on it. Getting the bars to line up with the hood seal seems to be the sweet spot on a stock length superjet. That pole will look clean on your ski.

Only time I've ever seen a broken pole or ripped nose is from no limiting rope.

Could probably bend that one down to what you need and not have to change it. Could also put a spacer or two behind the impeller to make it a little looser if it's too much load on the engine

You should probably list your hull and weight. The hull weight and your weight will definitely play a role in impeller pitch. A lighter, carbon hull will want more pitch than a heavier glass hull. Otherwise you're just guessing and going off someone else recommendation who might have a...
