Get a set of straight bars and re-drill your stock turn plate to mount them, you can shorten your steering setup up to 4" I think. Very cheap mod and if you decide to upgrade your handle pole later you'll have a better idea of what lenght you wanna go with...

Ya it's not a big gain, I didn't weight mine before and after but I saw a thread where a guy cut away every single bit that he could and it cut off 4lbs... A lot of work for not much gain but along with the other stuff you can cut and trim to save weight it all adds up.

The foam is just laying there, it should come right out once the tank and wb are removed. I used a L- head grinder with a 36 grit sanding pad on it to remove the extra glue. I worked well and was fast but made a huge mess, def do it outside with glasses and mask...

If the foam is two part (activated, like an epoxy) then it should work okay, however if it needs air to expand and setup it will not work very well. You can't just use spray foam from a hardware store, it will not expand like it should. I would try 4lb expanding foam from U.S. Composites, it...

I put one on the sxr I'm building right now, however I have a ATP waterbox which is supposed to hold way less water than stock, should I just take the fcv off and not have to worry about having trouble?

I wouldn't think it would be much cheaper to buy a hull seperate from a motor, even if you got a good deal on both there's still a lot of misalaineus parts you might need and buying them seperate might put you over budget. As far a hull mods it depends on your riding style, a stock ski handles...

I've got a trinity carbon hood on the sxr I'm building right now. It weighs 10lbs with all the hardware on it. Super light, great fit and finish.
