i use pro-k with outerwears, i don't seem to have water intrustion issues , and i like them better than the oem plastic ones, even if they don't keep water out as good.

Same here. Seal your bilge appropriately and you won't have to worry about water intrusion in the carbs.

every now and then i do get some water in the bilge and i can feel it vibrate a bit in the midshaft, i just ride it out the bilge oneway/scupper until i don't feel it. doesn't take long and because i have a coupler cover (which 95% people do, but i have seen some shiat) i don't get splashing on the pro-k's. I hand choke my carbs to fire the cold ski up so i like to pop them off easily to do that. the oem plastic ususally need a primer or a primer bottle to give a squirt down the rubber hole. I personally prefer hand choke for cold starts and don't run a primer. i like that the oems can keep water out but they are restrictive and that ain't cool to me.

Pro-K, where can I get them from?

And what do you mean by seal the bilge? Are you talking about the stock bilge? I removed it for dual cooling so I just have a pump

You can get Pro-K's from any Hot Products dealer.
Blowsion sells them.

By sealing the bilge I meant make sure your hood seal is of good quality and in top condition, use a good hood, and make sure the pole breathers don't let excessive water in. In short, make sure that water doesn't get into the engine compartment in the first place.

I think they ment seal the motor compartment (bilge) well with a good hood seal and make sure no water is getting in anywhere. I have PROKs on my 771 boat and the stock airboxes on my 865. I have only gotten water into the PROKs once when the boat got away from me and tossed in the surf. I dont think it would have made much of a difference if I had stock in that situation. XS recommened the stock air boxes on a surf boat, and thats why they are on my 865. FWIW, I do think the stock boxes do a slightly better job of keeping water out.

Is there a trick to checking your hood seal? It only two years old and in almost new shape, I didnt do the best job putting it in but with the Jetmaniac brap strap I tighten it down pretty tight in hopes that i get a better seal and my hood doesnt fall off

The test comes from riding it.
How much work are the bilge pumps doing? I can pancake my SF and have it upside down for a few seconds, and the bilge pumps hardly ever put much water out.

Don't know. I will tell you that Pro-K's kind of have a reputation for falling apart. I've had to replace one set in 3 years. The current set seems to be working great.

i have had my pro-k's for a while now too, longer that three years. my outerwears are hurtin. the pro-k seem okay but i have seen the funnel cone come loose and choke out a carb and cause head scratching for some time until it was figured out. I would buy them again if they break.

I had two brand new proks fall apart on me last year. I wouldn't buy another set for myself, but Droc and Matt are getting good mileage out of theirs. I bought the Riva cones and have been happy with them. To each his own...

really? i don't even put mine on tight, i push them on and they always stay on and never pop off, i must have the clamps set perfect for longevity and not max performance, maybe that was your problem, did you adj the clamps for max performance?

Lol, I bought them at a boat show a few years ago, I think they were from hot products, but I can't remember because I painted over the top right away, they came with over wears but they are super tight and a pain in the ass to get on, last year when ever my ski went upside down the ski would ride like chat for a few min, I always figured it was because of water, but might it have been something wrong with the carbs? Or am I probably right and it was just water

So I started breaking my motor in last night, It fired up perfect, I just have to adjust the idle this morning before I head out, question tho...why does my fully ported 771 feel like it has less power then my 701 exhaust ported motor, thru the first tank of gas it slowly feel like Im getting more power is this normal? Other then that the typical gotta fine tune the steering and tighten the triggers

It's normal for a motor to pick up some power during break-in as the rings seat.
However - even considering the break-in, it should be stronger than your 701.

Would the fact I haven't opened up more then 2/3 and I've got a extended rideplate be part of the reason it feels like no power
