DIY Total loss or MSD TL upgrade box 270USD?

I have a ski that I have the plain old Zeel and stock ignition coil and components mounted on a plate. Have had no issues so far, mine is not that pretty looking though. It's a kawasaki and I did it mostly for convenience/expediency.

I'm using a Sea Doo starter relay because it has a nice mount and is decently sealed, and the Zeel itself seems to be decently sealed. Mounted up from the bottom of the hull so they won't be submerged they seem okay.

I'd love to see a pic! I know it may not be pretty, but would be neat to see.

Can you run the msd independent coils with the zeeltronics , also would you gain anything by doing so? Thanks

I think older MSD TL systems specified running the two coils in series on single channel systems so I’m hoping that will work. I know the zeel puts out plenty of power but I’m curious if the higher voltage windings of MSD coils will produce the “hotter spark” most people think the MSD has

That's exactly what I was thinking, my goal is to run zeel A02T on total loss flywheel with msd independent coils and still run a wasted spark system in my kawasaki motor and just see how it goes, would I still need the voltage regulator on total loss? Still confused on that part

You don't need the voltage regulator if you're running total loss.

Didn't you test msd vs zeel and conclude there was no advantage to the msd?
 
I don't care about performance gains :) I'm just tired of running a dull looking ebox.
I use a Krash ebox with kawi coil and selenoid.

I think somebody is already doing almost exactly that. You need a different zeeltronic and a different trigger though. To fire the coils independantly would require two triggers, and two ignition outputs. There are Zeeltronic models that can do that but the plain vanilla PDCIS-02T (or AO2T) only has one input and one output to batch fire.
i have a twin coils set up total loss Zee set up , on of the last that art (ET)was able to help make with California Freestyle. its the equivalent to the MSD total loss but easier to change the timing curve ( just plug in the hand held unit and change the points simple ) you get like 20 points compared to the MSD 5 point and don't have to pull the unit to flip switches. i run it on my Revolver with a dasa 1200 ninja and i can idle flip easy
