Burgers for lunch & Neilcakes for Sat night sound like a plan. It's ok for peeps to do their own thing on Fri night. Let's just try to keep this thing simple for everybody.:cheer2:

There is some truth to that! ha ha!... like I said, the batter will be pre-made, so all i will have to do is pour & flip... pour & flip... etc.

Biggest problem with that is Sat. night is usually our "biggest" meal (turnout wise) and I'm not sure I can keep up - people would be standing and waiting for even longer that usual... and I could possibly run out of batter, leaving people hungry. Friday night and sunday morning usually bring a smaller crowd :fingersx:

Yeah, maybe the Fri night trickle in would be better/easier. Same kind of thing happens as people get stirred around at varying times Sun am. I'm up for either. We will likely be rolling in late Thu, and leave Sun noonish, so I can help for whenever you would like/decide. Or we could do Sat am so we don't deprive the folks that need to roll home early Sun?

ok...Why not do Sat morning Neilcakes & burgers for Sat lunch. Everybody do their own thing for dinners. I'm not trying to stir the pot here & I appreciated everybody's efforts, but this is getting way to complicated for the LSFR.

I know! Just trying to not overwork anybody and still give peeps what they want. I didn't want to just announce an executive decision. Trying to make it so everybody has time to have fun.

My preference, Neil cakes Sat am, burgers Sat pm. All other meals on your own. My reasons: Not to overload Neil. You can only flip them flapjacks just so fast. Biggest problem last year was getting enough cakes to the people in a timely manner. Breakfast is likely to be more spread out since everybody rolls out of the sack at different times and most peeps like breakfast for breakfast (I like it any ol' time).

Sat pm seems to be the natural time to do the largest get together - hence, the burgers then. Also, if we did am cakes and lunch burgers, we would be barely finished cleaning up breakfast and then need to start lunch cooking. Way too much work, too close together, even with different groups cooking, IMO.

Neil will be flippin' those cakes, how does that sound to you, oh, tall one?

Sometimes executive decisions have to be made to keep things simple. You've worked hard to try to make sure we're being fed this year, so make the decision. I'm sure everyone will be fine with it. Once there is a final plan in place people will know what's going on, can plan accordingly & know for sure what needs to be brought. Keep is simple & don't over think it. We want you to have fun too:Banane01:

I think I'll give people a little time to think it over, spot the new posts, etc. Not many people on tonight to chime in. I'll see how it shakes down over the next couple days and try to post a for certain plan by Monday pm.

If we decided to go with the PIG, It will come already chopped into yummie little pieces. I can have it already chopped into pieces that will fit into oven safe aluminum cooking trays...???( NOW THATS COOKING LINGO...BAM!) It can be served warm or cold, and is really easy to do with NO prep work. We can also set the trays on the grill to warm it that way...

Im totally flexible on this one... I can also just bring paper plates and cups!

The fixin's that go with burgers or piggy would be similar (beans, mac salad, etc), do we want such similar meals on the same day? I'm thinking, maybe move either the piggy or the burgers to Sun or Fri? Spread some of this love out. Unless someone has a different "theme" to go with the piggy? It would be fairly easy to get rolls and sauce and make it sandwiches. Maybe veggie plate (carrots, celery, radishes, etc instead of the heavier mac and beans?

Just ramblin' out the thoughts, now, but that sounds like a pretty good Fri lunch or supper.

I'll leave that thought out there for a day or so to give people time for feedback. I'm all for giving Neil his chosen Sat am for the Neilcakes since he's the chef.

Now we just need to decide if we want all the group meals on Sat or do piggy Fri lunch or pm (I'm good with either) and do the burgers as planned Sat pm.

Would a Fri meal work for you, SteveOwe?

depending on Steve's arrival, we can either do the pig for dinner Friday or Saturday.

If he's planning on getting in early enough Fri - let's do it then.

Burgers Sat since they are plenty easy to cook.

Why do we have to do burgers & pig? Why not just keep it simple & if Steve is willing, do the pig for Sat night. Save the kitty money for another time or use it to offset some other cost?

You're not really proposing that we stick SteveOwe with the entire cost of the piggy, are you? I don't remember him saying that he was getting the pig free, just probably getting it at cost.

I'd be good with doing either pig or burgers Sat pm. I definitely want to keep it as simple as possible (seems like this is getting too compicated). Just seemed like peeps were looking forward to all 3.

OK, so should we vote for piggy or burgers, then? Feedback, which would y'all rather do?
