It's good and sealed. It will be fine. But I gotta get a gasket for the next time the e-box comes out! I greased the seam and around all of the grommets.

My wifes ski is the work this weekend. 4 Busted motor mounts. gp800 mounts going in. Broke the e-box trying to get it off of the bracket. (that's coming from jetmaniac as well as the mounts)....gotta grind the hull ribs b4 the mod chamber is well vented. And it's flat out filthy.

It needed a good "once-over". Hopefully she will be good for the summer.

I'm a bit disappointed with the factory pipe coupler clamps. Stainless? Maybe really bad stainless.
I'm also disappointed with the choice of metal used for the "electrical looking nut" that holds the plunger-type primer inside the hull.
I've run into this b4....what a biotch. (had to pull the dash to work on the e-box bracket)

Hopefully, some day, pot metal will not be used for marine applications! lol.

lmk if you need an ebox.....sailors exchange has all the SS big hose clamps you'll ever need...

Thanks Bud! I didn't even think of the sailor sexchange!
I just rec'd the e-box and plunger nut from Jetmaniac.

Working the next 21 days straight... so there is no big rush. But I will definitely look for some clamps there!

Good tip, Idok!

It's been a while since I've been in there. Got clamps and some other stuff. It's like "the salty flea market" lol.
Mama's motor is back in except for the battery. Lined and wired. Thanks Chris and thanks Idok!

(when your wife hits the green button.....it's gotta run! lol)

It's wierd. No shims.
I put gp800 mounts in my ski a while back....and although my method of measurement was crude, no shims needed.
Just put gp800 mounts in Lisa's ski. Again...saw no reason to shim..anywhere. It's not exactly a straight shot to hit the threads, but once it's in there....all good.

Even got a mechanic buddy to look at it. All good.

Lisa's ski has it's own thread now.

I believe my ski is in need of some "dreaded' mid-shaft work. Never pulled one b4. Never installed one b4. But I'm pretty sure that my low end cavitation is being caused by air pulling from the engine compartment.

When I get to it......lol...

ya my mid shaft rubber thingy is coming apart fromt he housing... i see more cold fusion in my future. i think im coming to st augustine next weekend to look at a trailer. unfortunately a ski trailer so i will not be bringing my sj... sucks!

I don't get it. What could possibly be wrong? This mid shaft looks fine to me! I'm pissed at Yamaha for this inferior product! It onlt lasted 8 years! (well, maybe 7.....the water mark tells me it may have been an issue for a while)....But still!!!!
LOL...

pics of garbage seals/housing....all stock since Sept, '03. I guess I got the goody out of it.

I've never worked on the mid-shaft b4...(obvious)....will gladly accept tips & tricks to do a good install!
Funny thing is that the bearings feel pretty good....minimal play. This could very well be the source of my low end cavitation as well.
Sucking air from the engine compartment.

I will fix it...we will see....

A buddy hooked me up with a "nearly new" seal & bearings....(Thanks Josh). It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Unfortunately, still taking on water. I'm hoping that a cooling line is the problem. Gonna run it on the trailer, in the water for close inspection. Then, there's always toilet die.

Yeah it's gotta be a cooling line or the factory bilge, steering cable... There's not a lot there to leak, lol

I got your call just got busy... Will call tomorr

A cooling line would make me happy! Can't find any cracks in the hull. Steering cable is sealed with 5200. Factory bilge still loops up above the water line.
Submerged the ski as much as possible at the spot/ramp (not running) and could not see water coming in anywhere.
It's probably gonna be the line under the head pipe..lol. The hardest one to get to, and the only one with that stupid, permanent hose clamp that comes with the b-pipe...lol.

l'm with Josh on the factory bilge leaking.l had that happen on my fx1.Disconnect the factory bilge at the collector at the bottom, throw something in it to block it.Then go ride and see if that stops the leak.A whole hell of a lot easier than messing with b pipe.Just my .02

At least you will eliminate one problem area.
