How small of a order? humm.... wasn't your hand pole on its last leg at "Wave raid" Thanks to Matt helping me , my order is crossing the ocean at the end of the mth. Lou

Smaller than I had previously Imagined..I was going with a Hull (Shhhh)..but i ended up saving my money and getting Trim, Scupper and Fly-X rideplate- my pole was indead on its last leg...It ran a month like that before it died, ive since remedied that...But now it seems my motor is on the frets..

OK, OK...here come the excuses.
I was in Japan all last week, and its FREEEEEEEZING in the garage right now (not condusive to fiberglass work). Oh, and to top that all off, my hard drive decided life wasn't worth living, so I am temporaraly without a computer at home.

ALSO, (I was saving this for later...) I decided to insure that this ski would be able to do a flatwater backflip. So I am building an 8mm stroker, 81mm flat top Lamey motor with total loss. You all know that will have some brap to it!

-DAYTONA WARNING- This ski may not be painted or turfed (or even running) while I'm down there.

I'm currently out of budget money, and I still need to buy a few items...

I did decide on a paint/graphics job though.
It won't look like this, but this is what inspired me.
(I watched one of these roll off the assembly line in Japan).

No excuses Geek. Wheel that think into your house and get it out of the cold. Not a big fan of the flat black but now if you would put metal flake in there that would work.

That's about $350 worth of stuff, and my paypal account has $28.45 in it right now....

If thats all that is holding you up brother, Ive got a ski thats gonna be laid up for at least five more months. You could barrow my steering cable, and whatever else you needed to get this girl going for Daytona!

I already have the ski in the basement.
I sealed up the bulkhead Saturday night, and I'm getting started on the side reinforcing tonight.
I'd post pictures...but I don't have anything to upload them to right now.
I should have my computer back later this week though, then I'll get up to date with the visuals.

Oh, and I'm way ahead of you with the metalflake.

I'm hoping to get it figured out, but I may have to take you up on the steering cable offer...

Well, this weekend was huge.
Both sides are completely fiberglassed with unidirectional and bi-axial cloth. I cut the foothold holes, and got about 3/4 of the foaming done in the gunwales!! I'm hoping to foam just a littel bit more under the footholds, then glass those in tonight. I've got pictures of everything that happend, but I don't have my computer back yet, so I can't post them - but I will!

One thing I have to mention is that I am officially switching over to the 'rib-grinder' party. I am now convinced that they are NOT worth the hassle for the tiny little bit of strength they add. Of course, I didn't learn this lesson until the sides were completely done...

If I can keep up this pace, there may be painting happening this weekend (but don't hold your breath).

I should be posting pictures in a few days.

I might take you up on your offer - that's pretty much the absolute last part that I'll need, so If I don't have anything before I leave, I know I can find something down there. Take them with you man! - Thanks!

I went to Japan for work - some product training/etc.
I can't wait to go again!

Last night was a serious milestone!
The footholds are glassed in, and ALL the foam is poured.
The only thing remaining is for me to glass over the foam pour holes.
I've got a bunch of pictures, but won't be able to post them until later this week - (sorry!)

So....
The big question you've all been waiting to hear the answer for - HOW MUCH DOES IT WEIGH?

final weight came to:
88 pounds.

I am stoked!
I was pretty scared when the top and bottom glued together were 78 lbs - and I still had to add all the reinforcing, footholds, and foam.
Not only is this thing 37 lbs lighter than my old hull, its every bit as bulletproof, if not more!

On a small side note, I am dissapointed with the 3 lb foam from US Composites. It doesn't expand fast enough compared to how quickly it hardens. What I mean is, a skin will form before all the cavities are fully filled, and the rest of the expansion just pushes a mass around. The 2 lb foam I used on my old hull was from Fiberlay and it fille cavities in a far superior fashion. It's still foamed, and sealed, and strong, so the result is the same.

Painting begins on Saturday at 8:00 am!!!
