We have free outdoor ranges here but they are all a good hour away from me. Both indoor ranges are within 10 minutes of the house.

South Carolina and Georgia are States where almost all the land is privately owned and you have to buy access to private hunting or shooting clubs if you want to really run free.

So different from where I grew up in Canada. We had 180acres of private land that backed onto literally millions of acres of government land that we were free to roam and shoot up. There was a gravel pit right down the road where we could set up and shoot as far as 800 yards. And none of this was necessary because you could shoot whatever you wanted right off the front porch since our closest neighbors were 7 miles away.

OK so after seeing your range I take it back the one I visit it gross and dark and lame. Closest neighbors 7 miles away? Yeah, I could handle that!

I thought is was starting to come around but apparently not. I had a month where I was able to hit Walmart and stock back up in .22LR and 9mm and then things dried up again.

Talking to the range owner yesterday he said things are better but he still struggles to find .40 or .45 and 22LR. He's even mentioned paying $29/box for ammo to sell in his store for $25 just to keep peeps on the range.

Academy no longer keeps ammo up front at customer service. With the exception of 22LR, the ammo is on the shelves. They have 22lr in stock, but you are limited to 2 boxes.

I went to Gander Mountain, and they even had bulk 9mm in stock. 1000 rounds of Remington UMC for $269. The 22LR was only in up to 100 (CCI Minimag), although a few weeks ago I bought 3 boxes of 375 "swamp people" CCI 22lr.

A minor update.

After I sent my trust, via email, to Silencer Shop, I've been waiting to receive my packet so that I can sign my stuff and send in my Form 4. Since I haven't received anything yet, I called them yesterday. Apparently, they need to update their video. Since all the ATF forms can be done online, I don't have to do anything else. They submitted ALL of the paperwork and everything for me. I just need to wait about another week and check with the ATF and make sure I'm in the system. The person at Silencer Shop also said the wait has dropped some due to the online processing and information not waiting to be manually input. So, now I'm hopeful for some stealth plinking in February.

How do you check on status with atf online? I have been waiting 3 months so far and they told me the other day it could be another 12 months!

You my friend are extremely optimistic. Not a bad thing but setting yourself up for dissapointment. Just forget about it and when it happens then you can be excited. I think you have forgotten who handles this stuff, the government.

Picked up a Glock 36 recently. So far I like it...was never much of a Glock fan until my dad picked one up and I got a chance to shoot it.

It is replacing my Kimber Ultra Carry as a carry gun.

Doing the self defense. My dad did one a couple months ago and said h had a blast. 7 stages one included zhooting from laying in a bed taking out two targets and then picking up a baby and taking out 4 more targets.supposed to rain all day but hopefully that will keep the number of people down so it won't take all day

I had a Springfield XDM in .45 offered to me a few days ago. Hard case, 4 mags, IWB holster and 100 rounds for $500. It has 100 rounds thru it and just came back from Springfield after a having a recall applied to it.

If I had the cash laying around I would have grabbed it but Springfield is not my first choice in guns, especially in .45 ACP.

I've been doing PPC the last few weeks..., pretty cool and fun indeed. Come spring my buddy and I are looking into IDPA.
