Days 9-10:

Got some measurements of a stock RN tray with footholds versus the superfreak tray. Crazy large tray!

Installed the hood hooks, both xmetal hull and hood side. Then installed the SS xmetal hood latch. Finished the hood install.

Aligned the xmetal handlepole bracket at the +4" forward position and installed the adjustable xmetal pole system. The nosepiece needed some extra trimming to clearance the pole bolts.

The new xmetal pole comes with the xmetal steering, but I wanted to run the WDK sealed bearing setup instead. I had to drill and tap the new pole for the bearing plate mounting.

Installed the steering, then mounted the odi rogue grips, sato engineering throttle (thanks surfjunky), thrust trim lever.

Day 11:

I am really starting to drag, not alot of sleep preparing for daytona parts slingin' and trying to build my dream ski.

Got the carb mods started, minty goodness (thanks orangefinger). Rejet, new diaphrams, etc.

Installed the steering cable in the adjustable xmetal pole, pretty trick removeable cable mount bracket can be installed on either side of pole.
I have the pole bracket at -4, pole set at -2, and steering is -3 for a -9 total.

Installed the motor mounts and kenney keepers. I used sjet mounts in front to save time clearancing the keepers or mounts.

Epoxied (West Gflex) the bilge bracket down. Special attention given to smoothing the epoxy out to reduce cavitation potential.

Sealed off steering and trim tubes with 5200. Installed HIN plate.

I know I did some other stuff???

Day 12:

Another late night. Pulled the electrical system off my 701 stock motor from my surf ski. Removed the umi coupler, starter, and ada head.

Opened ebox to check condition. Totally dry, but the wiring harness was damaged. Replaced harness and installed new JSS coil and ebox gasket.

Starter already getting rusty, so cleaned/stripped rust and repainted. It was cold here again tonight so I used propane heater to speed drying.

Electrical system ready to go.

Engine is new jetmaniac freestyle short block. Case and cylinder ported for freestyle. New ProX top end and new seals/gaskets.

This ski looked unreal at daytona.Very nice job.

Thank you, it almost killed me getting it done by daytona. I finished a short list of loose ends (hood breather tubes, etc.) yesterday evening and got it in the water for the first time.

It looks so good just sitting in the water. The engine is a new build (first jetmaniac freestyle shortblock) so I have to break it in before wailing on the hull and engine. It was painful to ride around so slow, but the hull feels so light and responsive.

If all goes well, first surf ride will be daytona on sunday. I will be busting this superfreak's cherry ASAP!
