You can lay the microballoon/cabosil/epoxy mixture and glass over it while it is still wet. It will all harden together. You can do the same with epoxy/cabosil too but it weighs more.

Weeeeeeeeell..... I just placed an order for a gallon of 4lb foam, 2.5quarts of microballoons, some more mixing cups, some 8.9oz S glass for glassing lighter stuff, and some s glass tape. I got the s glass so I could lay it over the biax on the final layer to get a nice smooth layer.

Till that foam gets here..... more prep work on the bracket and nose area... HOORAY :(

Cool, I guess I'll have some $ coming in on my microballoon stocks.

Yea, no shat. I did it for you maaaaaaan!

I have the front prepped and ready to go, and tonight i went ahead and repaired the busted place in the floor at the waterbox mounts. Cabosil under the busted mounts, and then a layer of 17 biax over it. I cut about a 12x12 piece to go over the spot. I think it will hold fine.

I've been laying it on while it's still wet/tacky. That bad? I haven't been needing to sand it because the glass has been smoothing it out where it lays overtop.

That's how I was told to do it. It worked out great, because the epoxy self levels.

This foam is going to take for ********ing ever to get here... :D

Tomorrow, my goal is to do some cutting on that bracket mount area, and have the top layers glassed by tomorrow night. If I don't add some pics tomorrow, it's probably because I slacked out and didn't work on it. In that case, please everyone possible send me a PM telling me what a worthless sack of lazy ******** I am. Please.

tehehehhee

I got the bracket area trimmed out on the sides, and I've got about 2/3 of the sanding it back down done for the edges. I am going to finish it up tomorrow. A guy in town came by, and I helped him install his primer and oil block off plate. I am about tired of jetski's for a day. I should be adding a few more pics tonight, so stay tuned.

Well, I got the top area of the bracket done. I stuffed the gap with 1/2" chop, and layed down a layer of 12ox biax in one direction, and another layer in the other direction. Most of the strength and rigidity is going to come from the backside.

I rolled out a few more bubble after I took the pics, and now I am waiting for it to cure a little so I can go and trim it all up.

Here be teh pictar3s
