Lookin awsome, what about the motor?

It still looks the same as the pic in post#22. Stock with RIVA girdled head, 35cc domes, Jetinetics charging flywheel with a MSD Enhancer ignition, and a B pipe. I'd like a total loss system, but I'm not doing any more engine mods this year. At this point I just want to ride it.

I got my EJ ratchet strap today. I also dremeled the Blowsion backing plate and the old backing plate so I could still use the part that backs the hood hooks. I cut a piece off the old backing plate while I was at it to "fab" a piece for my straps like Crab did.

I'll post some pics later.

OK, I'm finally gonna post some pics. I'm waiting on a new starter that is supposed to be here tomorrow so I can finish this ski. I had to pilfer mine to get my wife's to run. I also might trade my MSD Enhancer/jetinetics flywheel for a single channel digital MSD TL setup from RideItLikeYouStoleIt if he ever finishes his finals and PM's me some info.

Hood ratchet strap system is in. I also installed some hood straps as backup. I just couldn't trust my $400 hood to one ratchet. I cut a piece of SS to reinforce where the straps connect to the pole bracket. Fancy Blowsion fuel selector knob, twister bracket, primer setup instead of a choke. Pool vacuum hose breather for the pole.

I refoamed the chinpad with some 25mm pad by using a "mouse" type sander to shape it. Covered it with a Blowsion vinyl cover. I think it turned out pretty good.

When I put it on I realized that I had reassembled my pole crooked. Check out the pics. It sucks but I know it can't be fixed. You can see how the pole is too far right. The chinpad hits the hood on that side and won't sit flush. I'll just deal with it until next year....new pole.

I also clearcoated the hood and nose piece. I suck at any kind of painting. I got some runs on the hood. Will rubbing compound get these out?

Here is a pic of the twister nozzle bracket, too.

Rubbing compound will not get runs out.
Take a sanding block with 600 grit paper to it and wetsand.
Work yourself up to 1500-2000 grit, then rubbing compound, then polishing.

I'm thinking 400 grit paper and re-spray that area. Does that sound OK?

There is no need to respray. If you do that, you have more sanding and polishing to do.
Just sand out the runs, polish.

Here she is boys! I'm putting her in the water tomorrow. I've decided that I only need something green and purple to have all the colors of the rainbow in the engine compartment. Red head, yellow tygon fuel lines, orange cooling lines, blue kenney keepers. Eroc Wilbs must be drooling over my rainbow engine!

I had to mount the rule mate 750 on the hump in the back because it was too big to fit anywhere else. I'll update tomorrow with some action pics and let you know how she ran. I'm stoked!
