screw that. I left Ohio to get away from the cold. Ill never go north again. Fall starts in August there. I'd die from shock if I got in water that cold. You little cupcakes need to come ride in Michigan in the middle hof November.

watch it john. Try chasing two kids while doing a turf job. It took me from 1:30 till 8:00 to get done with the padding, gunwhales, and dash. I felt like I had to stop every 20" to get something. You single guys have it easy. You can wrench all day and night if u choose. I even had a tear in the turf trying to rush a bit on one of the gunwhales! Thought I was gonna take a hammer to it.Yeah I checked the water temp today and it's 79 already. It's quite brisk compared to what's normal for us. After the initial shock though, it's not bad. Thankfully it's supposed to warm up again by the end of this week so maybe that'll give us just a couple more weeks.
I have to poke fun... The plan was to be on the water by the end of last weekend and now a week later, there is still more to be done. haha
I'm guessing it would be much more manageable than 35 degree water/25 degree air.
we get water temps of low 50's in the dead of winter. I wouldn't dare be out there in those temps...yet. With a new hull ready to ride I may push it this year. Having surf to ride in is s bit more fun than cold flat water. During winter that water is completely flat. Very few boat wakes to use so everything is a setup wake. Don't know if I could swing water temps in the 30's though. Our air temps get there at night with daytimes 40-50's for Dec-March. Usually by april water is low to mid 60's.No ice, the water is not write cold enough and moving too fast.
I'm just jealous of your water temps and having to wait a while for my own Superfreak.
Yeah I would imagine riding gear would make all the difference. My biggest fear is breaking down in water that cold. If I break down in the summer, I may be able to get a tow. If I can't get a tow, I'll be worn out by the end of the swim but that's the worst that will happen. If I break down in the winter with a 3/2 wetsuit, there are no boats so no tow and I can see serious problems with staying in sub 50 water for any extended time with such a lightweight suit, regular shoes, and regular gloves.
