Update Tubbies and Paint! 2/4

Pic 1-2
John stayed late the day after we glassed them in to shape the tubbies, add the filler, and shape the filler. I also wet sanded my handle pole that day to prep for paint. I’m really happy how they came out. They are both attached and aligned with the hull really nicely.

Pic 3
Gel Coat prep, all old paint is sanded off after countless hours of sanding. I taped off the top deck for overspray and the hard small areas of the pump I didn’t remove the paint from.

Pic 4-5
Gel Coat! Came out great I was excited to see some shiny back on my ski.

Update Tubbies and Paint! 3/4

I arrived at the shop after school to see the bottom being polished and the sides already sanded by John’s employees and my friends Rudy and Eric. They are all pulling to get my ski done for Pismo I can’t thank them enough.
Pic 1
Even more of my favorite activity, Sanding to prep for primer of the top deck and taping off the bottom.
Pic 2
After primer and wet sanding the primer.

Pic 3-4
Painting the Handlepole, bracket, and sponsons.
Black with a dip of silver to add a awesome metallic sheen, and finishing with clear coat.

The paint!:bigok:
We finished wet sanding the entire hull again yesterday and got to Painting it!

It came out great! I can't wait to go tear off the tape to see the whole ski, and put it together!
I’m so stoaked this week is it, its coming down to the wire. I plan to leave Friday morning at 4 am. But I still have a lot of help at the shop to assist with the turfing.
Other than that I need to finish working on my pump, re-jet my BlackJack, and fix my stator wire to finish my engine. Then its putting it all together throwing it the test tank and running the holy hell out of it to break in the new pistons then tune it, clean it, and GO TO PISMO! I’m going bananas but I’m so excited this is the best way to start my riding season.:brap:

I'll see any of you going at Pismo this weekend!
-Mark

why so? without them the thing is squirly as ********ai mushrooms

Well... that seems like a good benefit to me...

Perhaps thats just how I ride. I like to be able to easily kick the rear wherever i want it to go. Seems like it would really be beneficial since you ride surf. Let the front sponsons take care of the heavy duty work

Update Tueday night

I decided to PJ1 my steering base plate which came out great for very little prep work. It looks better with the handlepole all nice and black.

Pic 2
My pump after I filed down all the factory layovers making large ruts in the pump. I wire polished it in the end with the dremel it came out ok for my first job. I can’t wait to see what a difference it makes.

Ohh no all that work and you did nose braces...??? Please tell me you at least glassed that area too... cause those nose braces dont do crap, just put more holes in your hull.

If you want one more trick on that 550 pump that will make a good bit of difference shoot me a pm.
