I got my info directly from US composites so it must be a low blush formula, they said acetone then sand then acetone again will work fine on the phone however their site does recommend water as a first step. I will grab a spray bottle with some warm water to spray it and wipe it down as an added step in the future.

More than that however I have not been letting it cure completely before I keep adding layers so I am beating the blush. Additionally I run a dehumidifier as I glass to keep moisture content down.

I can only think of one spot where I may have inadvertently layed over blush, where the gunwale patches lay over the glass where I chopped the rear, if my method of acetone, sand, acetone did not work. I prepped the poo out of it with a power sander so I suspect I will be ok. Its also really thick back in that area so structure is fine, even without the extra glass from the gunwales its over 6 layers of good bonded glass under it. I could also grind that small 3" section out if people still think it will present an issue.

Thanks for the heads up. Would you grind that small section out or yolo it?

I finished the other side last night. Took about 16 hours including breaks for set up time but its done. I changed my prep routine to include warm water to remove any blush. I still have to trim the excess and finish the dash but I feel really good about its strength, especially in the firewall area. It should be plenty strong even though its going to have a massive front foothold punching through it.

Im taking the day off lol.

Edit: Trimmed the excess glass and mocked up some foam to get an idea of what it could look like when I add the shoulder to the gunwale.

I was hoping I could get some feedback on the gunwale profile I am thinking about cutting. I really like flattening out the angle and getting rid of the spoiler look.

Any thoughts?

Or the 90s treasure that was the Fox Body Mustang. Very 90s if you ask me.

Next question. Here is the angle I'm thinking about lowering the Hood to. Also I am thinking about removing the shoulders on the back of the hood to better match my Dash.

Any thoughts?

Damn you’re going crazy on this ski but it looks great so far. As far as cutting the hood, I think it would look best if you could match the angle of your cut on the gunwales. Imo that would be the most aggressive look but hard to tell without mocking it up in person.

I think I may end up with clearance issues with the stock airbox I run on my 62t if I did that. The thought crossed my mind and it would look more like an AM hull hood but I think clearance issues may get in the way.

I thought about that myself but I remember everything sat below the hood lip on my rn. Not sure how the sn is different and I also have an aftermarket intake. I’d mock up the motor real quick and see how much cut you can get away with. A lower profile intake is always an option as well.

I decided it was time to start finishing the dash. I took those plates that I trimmed previously and I mixed up some epoxy and cabosil and smeared it over the back side. Once I riveted them in I took some cabosil and Bridged the gaps on the gunwales and the dash. I'm letting it cure overnight and I will lightly sand it in the morning and add quite a bit more cabosil to round the right angles and fare it in better. Once it tacks up I will then start laying glass to stitch the front and back side in.

You should get a award for the "most cut up SN" ever! Don't think l have ever seen one modified this much.Stay in their and don't give up!

Im sort of treating this ski like Micky Rourke treats his fingers, if it offends me I cut it off.

I just got a 155mm pump so more cutting is in my future. The pump tunnel is offending me.
