That hull was a 100lb surf hull and it was Jeffs lowest grade of construction....

Some of you really kill me... You can't compare hulls from manufatures by just looking at your buds hull and assuming that's the best work the compay has ever done... Jeff, like most composite companies have levels of quality they make things... SO it's not fair to judge a very inexpensive build hull like the REV (that was given away) up to a visual carbon hull...

I looked at several XFT's and the work had flaws too... It's all in how you want to see it for some people... River Rat can find good in the stuff he gets from jeff, some of you will only see the bad, cause your minds are made up...

Hate to tell you, but thats how products are judged. If we arnt supposed to look at our friends boats and see if we like parts what are we supposed to do? I know for dam sure these companies arnt going to fly us to thier shop to see their best work. Not to mention all the work that is done should be thier "best" for each given product.

So if we look at our friends parts and for some reason they came fubared from the the company, guess what... that is going to be the impression that sticks in our minds.

I agree comparing the green boat in daytona vs an XFT visual carbon hull is not fair. But, if people thought the daytona rev was cheap for whatever reason, they are going to assume the rest of the revs are equally cheap. (I thought it was a nice hull, but im no hull expert) Either way, we judge the quality of a company by the parts we see by them, and to say a company has different quality levels maybe true but if that company looses sales cause of one cheap looking part its thier fault.

To each his own bro., I heard bad things and good things about Hunter's hull. I have a REV hull and I can tell you the basics of this hull and the construction are WELL worth what I paid. This is why Jeff is defended. I bought mine in pieces so I could do what I want with plumbing and batteries and so forth. The top deck and bottom deck seem solid to me and it weighs 6# more than he said it would (so he was off by about 7% on his guess). To compare a $10,000 XFT carbon hull to mine is just stupid IMO. I paid a quarter of that for mine bro. Now compare the quality to OEM Yamaha hull and I stole the damn thing IMO.
Hunters was a project (1st time build for anyone) and Jeff will make any issues right with him I am sure.
I have recieved one item from WDK that I thought was less than Quality and he not only offered to take it back but he changed his entire design because of it correcting the issue on not just my part but every one sold from then on.

You people need to give a mf'r a break, he is a small shop building and selling more parts of his own than anyone in this frickin industry.
Who else has there own new design on all these parts:
3 dif. bottom deck
4 dif. top decks
multiple choices on lay ups on both of the above.
Pump shoe
66E pipe for SJ
66E intake mnflds for SJ use
complete (and I mean COMPLETE) steering systems
Billet Handlepole
Hood hooks
2 different pole brackets
Foot holds
sponsons front and rear
BILLET 66E cylenders & heads
DIABLO hood and nose pc
Rec Hood and nose pc
SN hood mod
Race hood

and the list goes on and on and on and on and on.

I say put up someone better or leave the topic alone.

It would take you all a minute to get something out too if you had to build all the parts above.

Jeff wants everyone to have the shiot tomorrow and has every intension to do so, he just runs out of time in his 13 hr work day to get it done.

Since Daytona his bus. has prolly doubled, I assure you its not because people saw his work as CRAP.

Do the math people GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ

Some seem to forget how long it takes to get an XFT hull real quick.

Yes I had to wait for ever for a custom hood, and yes it is pissing me off, but I still dont think the bashing here is JUSTIFIED at all.

got the pole yesterday :arms: All is well. Most solidly constructed pole out there by far. I read somewhere that the RRP was the "Ferrari" of the handlepoles................if that is true then this is the "Bentley" :smokin: Same price as a RRP w/ pad so it is really a matter of preference. I can see this being the last pole you will ever buy. I don't even see how you could bend, let alone break one of these. It's light also............about 10.5lbs and 3.5 of that is at the base. I got the carbon ski which is about a 1lb heavier than a pole w/ a prepreg skin.

If you have the means and like the looks I would have to say place a order. He has probably 10-20 unsold peices constructed, just needing skins. I hope to give more feedback on it once I ride the ski but thus far I am impressed.
Where the hell are the breather tubes? Are all of the cables supposed to fit thru that hole? did you get a set of dual bolts? The chinpad looks like a knife read y to stab you in the head
:haha:

I got to see/hold the pole last night. It's nice. The only concerns would be the chinpad area flexes alot, but my 24/7 pad does too after comparing them side by side, and the skin is glued on, which makes me wonder what will happen in saltwater once the aluminum starts oxidizing.

Structurally, it's strong. 11.2 lbs on my scale, with bushings, turf, stop. I think that's a little heavier than others but in the same ballpark. I got 4.6 lbs weighing the top and 6.6 weighing the bottom, so it is heavier at the bottom which is good.

actually the daytona ski was very THIN..it was built as a flatwater hull........approx 85lb hull

from jeffs words he made it thicker so some one wouldnt just go out and break it. then all you guys on team wdk wouldnt freak out. its not 85 lbs more like 100 and wet layup . good try though.

I suppose I would be lucky then if I decided I need his hood, bracket and nose piece, I would drive directly to his shop (4.5hrs) and pay cash.

ya'll could just make your own stuff :Banane01:

The only thing I have bought exterior wise was a finger throttle from LPW...and my hull has home-made footholds/ - 3.5" hull/ -2" stock pole (thats been broken in half), and the hull was free!.....*all mods are backflip approved

Jeff makes a million products. (maybe too many). As soon as he finds a small flaw in any of them, he makes a better design. (This takes a ton of time and pisses people off). His heart is in the right place. He does need to take a break from designing and get his products out there to the people who want them.
I am sure the old pole was fine, but the new one is even better.

I am sure Hunter's ski will be one of the most badass skis out there. I am rooting for this guy to make it. He is backed up the gills with work, so I am guessing he will.

ps...I would love to see a lightweight SXR freestyle hull out there sometime. (takes a kawi powerplant)

i got my complete hull and handle pole in six weeks from the day i orderd.i live in seattle and drove down and picked it up. Jeffs phone rang at least 50 times in the couple of hours i was there, so maybe if people werent calling every two days to see if there stuff had been shipped yet he could get something done. then i orderd a set of footwells for my other ski and recieved them in only two days. so i guess i could have spent more money on a sj clone and been just like every one else but in the end I have a nice ski that looks and perfoms better.

Jeff should hire someone specifically for phone calls if that is the case. By my calculations, that's 200 phone calls in an eight-hour day. A 12.50 per hour receptionist would only cost about 50 cents per call (And only give the customer 2.4 minutes of their time). And the receptionist should be on a first-name basis with the UPS guy, the FedEx guy, the DHL guy, etc. etc.

That way Jeff can get something done. :wall:

Didn't Idok say awhile back (in a different thread) that Jeff had hired a business consultant? Where is this consultant, now?!? :dunno:

It appears that Jeff could use one. :cool2:

No doubt that his products are in demand now, but he has the same shipping problems that he has ALWAYS had.
