Surfriding Which trick holds more respect to you: Re-entry or Backflip ?

I have reached a crossroad with surf riding, Like WaveDemon said I am stuck on stabs, complacent and need to have my eye on one of these two tricks...Seems like there are baby steps towards learning the reentry, while how could one possibly work on small/low backflips and build up to them ? Complacency gets boring...

small flips can be done with trim.

Reentrys are great because you can work on them on smallish days but filps need to be chest high

Stabs scare the hell out of me now. Before I started rolling I could flat water stab like no other. Now, they hurt, I over-rotate them constantly and smack my face. Of a wave is even worse now.

When I could not roll, I could stab, Now I am rolling, I cannot stab. Go Figure.

What I respect the most is the people who can respect the other tricks and riders. I dont respect the disrespect by some.

hey andrew! How about a reentry backflip?

Taylor has been working on them..

I think a well rounded rider has to be able to do everything. I just hate the fact that almost everyone only focuses on jumps out the back. It dosnt matter how many flip variations you can do if u can't put your ski on a rail. So many "pros" focus only on their jumps and totally ignore the fundamentals of riding a ski. Also nobdy seems to have a sense of flow or realizes that u can actually do more than one move on a wave Most guys do the exact same "slash" no matter what the wave is doing. The possibilities of waveriding on a ski are pretty much endless but all u see is guys doing the same frontside turn before the wave is even breaking and then just compleatly pass up the other sections that could have been utilized. The wave should dictate the type of turn you do not just wait for a section that is easiest to turn on.
