SX/SXi/SXi Pro Question about dual kiehin Carburetors on a Kawasaki 750sxi

I have some Keihins off a '95 SXI I will sell you cheap. The key to getting them to run right is using the COMPLETELY STOCK AIR BOX. Using the stock air box, only some minor tweaking should be necessary to the stock jetting. If you insist on running aftermarket flame arrestors you will be no...

650/X-2 Keihin CDKII with Mod? I'm not familiar with

You know that is on a 750 manifold, right? That manifold won't work on your 650.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro Sxi pro Winter Project

Be careful with that timing advance-- hold the throttle open for too long and you will likely melt a piston. The CDI's marked 3738 have more built in timing advance than some of the early kawi 750s. The fixed 6* advance the R&Ds add is too much on the top end for a pump gas motor with a sloppy...

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 sx duel cooling

Yes, the dry pipe should be used with dual cooling on the ski. I have looked at doing it a couple times to my ski, but decided against it because it looked like a pain in the ass. I always like to keep the stock bilge hooked up-- what do you mean by use it as an outlet? If you really wanted...

650/X-2 swapping to a larger carb

You don't want anything bigger than a 42mm Keihin or 44mm Mikuni. The keihin is an easier swap.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro First Stand-Up Ski What to do to get it going.

The diaphrams in that carb are prob stiff as a board... I would swap them out.

    SX/SXi/SXi Pro Carb Jetting

Leave the stock flame arrestor on the stock carb and your jetting will be much, much easier. Changing the flame arrestor fcks with the jetting more than the pipe. With the stock flame arrestor on, start with stock jetting and you will prob be damn close. You will prob just need to open the...

    Difference between SX and Pro

The port timing in the motors is different, different size wrist pin, different timing curve in the CDI, different carb setup, different hull (an extra strake in the Pro, and a tweak to the pump inlet as well I believe) There are a few other things, but those are the most note worthy.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro A few questions for the SXI Guru's

What exactly do you want to use the ski for? Free style or chasing buoys, or...? The stock impeller in the SXi pro is a stainless 9/17. Going to a Skat of the same pitch isn't going to do you much good. A stock SXR impeller is a inexpensive upgrade. With all the work don't to that ski, I...

Kawi put that crossover there to INCREASE bottom end/ throttle response. Leave it alone.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro Pro Intake Manifold Issues -- Help!

The SXR manifold will fit. It looks like you maybe got an intake manifold for the Keihin carbs-- the carbs you have in the pic are the mikunis. Not sure what year they started putting the mikunis on the sxi pro, but that looks to be your issue.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro Best impeller for 92 750sx small pin w/ factory pipe

No need to replace it-- just send it to Impros to have the damage repaired and blades re-pitched. Also, punch your reduction nozzle out to 82mm helps.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 Sx carb issues

I have had bad coil wires exhibit similar symptoms. If the carb has been rebuilt and is set to factory settings, I don't see why it would be the problem.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 92 750sx sounds like a carb problem can you help me

What do you mean it sounds like a rev limiter? Like when a ski goes into "limp mode" and won't wind out? Or when you over rev it and it bounces off?

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 98 sxi. Cylinders have different spark?

Throw an ohm meeter across the two plug wire leads and see what the resistance is. I can't remember what they value you should be-- do a search, I am sure it is posted some where.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 96 sxi firing problem

I would start by checking ALL your connections (battery, starter, ebox) and making sure they are clean and secure.

SX/SXi/SXi Pro My first build/first stand up

What makes you think you are overheating the front cylinder? Are you sure your jetting is right? Are you maybe too lean on the top end?

SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 sx FP, R&D, COFFMAN, WEST COAST

Motor work is only big money if you are afraid or unable to do the assembly work yourself. You can get cases and cylinders ported for about what you will drop on a used factory pipe, and less than you would drop on a new one or a new aluminum charging flywheel. Tim Z and Chris Newmiller both...
