Had to drill out the stock bolt holes. Worked well, but made it difficult for my fat old arse to get back on the ski.
Picked up a modified SN hull. The walls have been contured and foot folds have been installed. My issue is that the tops of the walls that have been contured are not smooth (bumpy and exposed glass) and the wall are now thicker making the width of the tray about 12.5".
How would you address...
Modified Saiga Kalashnikov action chambered in .223. It has been solid after the initial break in. Not going to win any marksmen contests with it. Parts and bolt ons are not as easy to get now since the import ban, but shouldn't need anything.
You can get the stock pipe in there. Google 650 pipe modification to get a little more out of the stock pipe. Pipe fitment is like cramming 5 pounds of crap in a 2 pound bag. Expect to have to grind the exhaust manifold down a litte to make it fit.
Yes you need a conversion plate - JRE or Watcon. You need the electronics too and a way to mount them, or stuff the 650 electronics in the 550 box. I think, don't quote me, you can just swap the voltage regulators as well, but research that to be sure.
You need a proper pitched impeller. Too...
Try these. None are mine. Based on bang for the buck I'd go for the PJS 3 piece first, then the Coffman, then the Factory, lastly the Kerker.

There is an extended cone on PWC for $30 shipped. Probably a little more to Canada. The cone and modded head pipe should provide pretty good results on a stock engine.
550 won't work on a 650. Find a good uncut Westcoat type II style pipe this winter for $175ish or even better a Coffman for $225ish. Another option is to mod your stocker. There is the Lazer Mod on PWC.
Stock coupler and clamps will not fit. Those pipes (Westcoast Style) are an odd ball diameter - 4.75" I think. A 5" coupler fits a little loose, but works. Buy turbo clamps instead of cheap worm gear clamps.
