I'll disconnect mine and use that grommet for the remote switch on my Advent Ignition when it arrives next week. I can't remember what the wires are like inside the e-box but do I just leave them disconnected or do they have to be hooked together?

My heat sensor is just zip tied near the e-box out of the way right now. (I have an ADA head too.) Is is a bad idea to leave it hooked up like this?

It's black and messy but dries quick.

Advancing the timing would depend on what CDI you have and what kind of riding you do (WOT runs or not). Some guys have great luck advancing 2-3 millimeters but aftermarket CDI's are based on the stock stator timing.

Thanks for explaining how the MSD is compatible, #.0. I didn't think you should be swapping stock CDI's but apparently some guys do. :nono:

That F/A accentuates the vibration too. If you are sure that metallic noise is the pipe then you're probably fine. Just pin it!

Just had the exact same problem with one cylinder cutting out intermittently and it was the plug wires. You'll love it!

OK, I'm not an idiot after all. Yes, to test the wires just hook each end of the test leads to both plug wire ends. The resistance should be 3.5 - 4.7 K ohms. I had no reading because one of my plug wires had a break in it. The engine would run because the spark would jump this break...

OK, but can't I check the plug wires somehow? Yea, that's just tape around them. It is the rear lead that fails when it happens. I can tell from the spark plug.
