Subs were my first trick too. Learned them the day i rode for the first time with footholds on my SN. Ahh brings back memories lol. I only do that trick for cute girls anymore.

I wear a Bell Sanction bmx helmet and I love it. Just look for something lightweight and doesn't hold water.

Keep your arms extended when you push the nose under. Don't go limp when you hit the water. Wear a helmet lol.

I never had to drag mine across that spot. Guess I got lucky with the tides. I do remember it being really shallow, like only about 6 inches deep. I just full throttle blasted across it and prayed lol. Those are some fun finger trails to the left of that pic too!
