    Super Jet Paint color

I'm not trying to be a dick either, or trying to be a cheerleader for colorright...just saying I've had good results with their products. Also, it's not that I don't know any better, but the fact is I spent good money trying out 2 different local shops that did halfass work before I was referred...

    Super Jet Paint color

No, you're right. Look how horribly the glovebox lid & seat done with colorrite matches the fairings that were factory painted 3 years earlier. Must've come from the same 2000 gal batch.

    Super Jet Paint color

I understand that, but the thread is about painting a Yamaha ski, not a car or a bike. As far as I'm aware they paint their hulls, decks & trim pieces in the same plant where they are assembled. I've never noticed any variance in color from one Yami to another, even between different models.

And neither is the spectrophotometers paint shops use for color matching. He might have better luck than I had having a shop match it for hime since the SJ uses a solid color instead of a metallic. My painter sprayed some parts for me to match the deep purplish blue metallic fairings on my GPR...

It aint cheap, but if you want a guaranteed match, buy the OEM paint from Colorrite: http://www.colorrite.com/product/yamaha-0754-dark-purplish-blue-solid-m-dpbsm-1928.cfm

Other What was your most worthless mod?

Did more what? They do completely opposite things. The TBM helps keep the pump hooked but loads the motor more. The stubby takes load off the motor but sacrifices hookup. The low end on my ski is much snappier since installing the stubby, but I haven't done any motor mods yet. I might not...

Super Jet X-metal steering system on 2010 SJ pole issue..

I'm not at all familiar with the XM plate, but according to the thread his cable setup can be used with any aftermarket plate. The $165 I paid was for the cable & adaptor ONLY(no plate).

Super Jet X-metal steering system on 2010 SJ pole issue..

I have the same problem with the Wamilton's plate. The cable bottoms out before the plate hits the stop when turning left, & I saw lots of people post leaving it like that will break the cable. I searched around the forum & the only solution, besides buying another pole, was the TS Innovations...

Super Jet Drive Shaft Zirk Grease Fitting

His post was dead on. If you pump in too much grease or pump it in too fast, you can unseat the seal which will allow grease to leak out. As he mentioned, it's a sealed bearing that doesn't need lubrication, but without grease to keep water away from it, corrossion will start. A couple tricks I...

    Super Jet 2012 superjets!

The sales manager at Riva told me he'll be able to get regies for the 12's for now, but he wasn't sure for how long. Riva accounts for something like 1/3 of worldwide SJ sales, so if anyone is gonna know for sure, it's probably them. I bought my '11 from them the last week of Aug & got one of...

Super Jet can i sand out scrathes on my RN, NEED HELP PLEASE

Are all SJ's SMC, or were earlier models FG? Reason I ask is because my other Yamis(also SMC) use a single stage urethane paint(no clear). I've done some scratch repair on them, & a simple color sand & buff works great for light scratches. I'm 99% sure gel coat is never used on SMC.

Yeah I saw those too, but also read a thread saying it required lots of grinding to get it blueprinted to a 144 pump. I also saw mixed reports on the fit of the JD shoe, but saw this on the Blowsion site: There was a recent poster using the JD shoe that said it was an easy fit, so I'm assuming...

Super Jet New SJ owner...just saying hello & have a question.

Hey all. I've been mulling over getting my first stand-up for awhile, & when I saw the '12's were gonna be sold as "competition only use" I pulled the trigger on an '11 the follwing week because I wanted a ski I could register. So far I've been having a blast with it. I have a couple 80+ mph...
