they are two different carbs but look exactly the same. the 4 hole carb came off the 650's and cant supply the right fuel demand for the 701. the 3 hole carb is the real 701 carb. alot of people dont know this. atleast make sure each carb is the same. they are mikuni sbn 44's

do you think i should lower or raised my pop off pressure? according to the chart i should of had 22psi pop off before.

so what pop off should i be looking for? i have all my springs laid out. ive got a 1.5 needle/seat and i thing the one in my ski now is a 2.3. just trying to find the best combo with what i have

i dont have a pop off gauge so i cant test that, i will try to find one tho. ill have to take the carb off to check out the needle and seat i dont remember. i think maybe 2.3

ohh yea that would help. i dont have a tach. its a 61x superjet bored to 733cc with a riva red pipe, 180-185 psi, msd, 46mm mikuni carb with 127.5 low speed jet and 155 main jet. the main jet is most likely rich right now until i get the low speed tuned right.

the 3 hole carbs are the better ones. i know it doesnt make sense but the 3 hole carbs are for the true 701 motors and the 4 hole carbs are the 650 carbs. this was for the superjets not sure if its different for kawis but thats what i was told. and off my stock 650 motor came a 4 hole carb.

also when i blew up the motor wasnt even that hot. was this only because the low speed was lean? i was doing some tail stands when it happened. i figured the whole motor doesnt get that hot maybe from low speed but the internals can

its alright. i found mikuni's blown up manual and im pretty sure i installed it correctly.

its a 701cc bored to 733cc with a head at 180 psi, msd, prop, single 46mm carb, riva red pipe, intake and maybe a couple other mods.
