I'm at a cross roads right now, I've sold my Skat 144 pump and can go 148 or 155 in the below setup, which would you choose and why?
Glass 2012 XFS
XS1000 10mm
Power Factor Pipe
Full Spec 49 AVLR
MSD Total Loss
Believe there may be some 'shaving' of the pump tunnel required for the...
Keith I'm fitting a 148 Mag with 13/19 5mm cut back thin blade next week on my xs1000 if you want to try that (could pull the pump and try it in yours at the lake if you like?). Prop is the spec Rick suggested at X Scream.

Im careful these days with big rollers created by displacement hulls - tend to find yourself very high but flattening out midair = pancake flat landing/tough on the ankles!
Can you powder coat 62T cases that have been ported (would block off the relevant areas so only external faces are coated) but I'm thinking about the temps that powder coat is baked on at in the oven? Anyone done it?
Jim
I have an XFS with an XS1000 with PFP/49 specs/TL etc - I'm running a 144 Magnum pump with 16/21 and it seems OK, would the 148 give much better performance on my setup?

Did you powder coat the cylinders/cases?
Jim

Sounds a bit lean/hard on the low end. Have you stripped/cleaned your carb bucket filters? Your pop off might be a little to high, seems to pull at the top end listening to the video.
I would try, one at a time, in this order:
1) check/clean internal filters
2) richen low end carb screw by...
