Well the resin came in yesterday..... All I can say is you better have your crap together. This stuff wets out well but cures fast . The small test panels seem more rigid just bending them by hand . I think it will be great for small parts and repairs . It really cures fast .... did I mention...
Here's how it turned out... The fit is much better , you don't have to spread it a half of an inch to get it around the sides. The contours match the bottom except for the strakes. Much better than having the 1/4 inch plus mismatch on the original.
I knew there would be a step from the plate to...
The sportfish guide to ride Tybee .
There are a few things to note while riding out of Tybee .
1. Access is a small ramp with houses very tight so DONT start your ski in the parking lot. Do your test start / blow out some where else? It WILL piss off the people that live there..... Give them...
I think the quick kick is some what of a new product ?
It's popular with surf board makers used as a hot coat due to the cure time / clarity and UV protection. Sounds like a good resin small parts and hull mods . Additionally there is an additive that aids in sanding for visual parts. Sounds...
TWO HUNDRED MINUTES ! ...... That certianly gives you time to find your good scissors . Laying up a hull I guess the more time the better.
The other thing the rep said about quick kick is that it was their strongest resin . They did not have official numbers to support the claim , but I assume...
Just ordered a gallon.... Its supposed to be about the same working time as polyester or vinyl. Its UV stable in like us composites and others.supposed to wet out better as well. Anyone use any resin research products. I think Trinity uses the 2000 resin research system I may be wrong.
I HATE...
All lay ups are done in an anti gravity vacuum chamber . We were actually inverted pulling 9 G's when the picture was taken.... My lab tech ice man said , it's the gutsiest lay up he'd ever seen. Nice eye there Mr. Mc dog
I know it's late... I hope you all did not wait up. But as promised we have layed up what we believe ground breaking technology for the Backie Chan.
It's been an exhausting 6 months. I went from builder to builder asking , " How can we make a ride plate that fits the chan "? One by one they...
Done sanding .... Well as much as I'm going to . WE WILL PULL TOMORROW. We have a ton going on at Tweeker industries. We got ride plate projects ,we got wake surf board projects..... O yes as a matter of fact ... that is a black anodized light saber hilt .
Hold your horses folks .... I've gotten more calls and Pms than a Jerry Louis telethon .... Let me pull one and make SURE it fits .... dare I say " like it ort to " Before we make commitments .
Things you should know.
The ride plate steps on the hull are inconsistent on the Chan. a beefy...
Well ..... Tweeker Industries has done it again . At least we think we have done it again .... The truth is we really don't know what we have done , but we assure you all we have done something ....
Tweeker industries has been working over time in their double TOP SECRET location in conjunction...
Let's be clear on this ...... Geese ARE ok to chase . Other than that don't chase any wild life....
Put in my respectful 2 cents. Seems the manufactures should get in on this. We have had MTB and ORV trails shut down in ga and Tenn because people simply did not show up.
My guys mounted them flush .... nothing hanging out the back. They basically grafted in SN hulls using 16 pound foam ,glass epoxy and carriage bolts. Its cool that they can use any SJ ride plate or intake to tune a little bit. I'll try to get some pics posted.
Your getting soft in your old age .... :) Generaly speaking are all spray nozzles con figured the same way with a 45 degree cut on the bottom. Give me some spray nozzle schooling .
Yes ... used 19 oz carbon twill bottom , sides and under the pole area. After you sand the zolatone do not do a acetone wipe . The zolatone will start comming up like you put paint stripper on it . I found out the hard way and had to completely strip the motor compartment .
Nice work.... A little reinforcement goes a long way. If you reinforce the inside and handle pole be careful with the acetone it makes a HUGE MESS when mixed with zolatone.
As for your e-box question , myself and some others have mounted it behind the carbs. Measure about 4 inches from the rear fire wall the rear of the ebox should start there . Make sure you mount it high enough to clear the exhaust but low enough so that your plug wires are not rubbing the...
