I've riden the Cold Fusion Foot Rocket a few times... Granted I'm not in the best shape, but I had a hard time keeping the nose down for sure. I felt like it needed the long hull plate for sure compared to the medium plate I rode with.
Mine is an FR2 from early 2010. Gel coat is flaking off. It is worse after every ride. I have been given the idea to high press washer it and then soda blast it, and then repaint. But I don't really care what it looks like, its fun to ride. I circled the problem areas in red, but it is hard to see.
If you install it, use a new gasket for the ebox. Most people don't, but I have used a new gasket the two times I have opened mine up in the last 5 years and it is still bone dry.
If you talk to John??? at Jet Ski Solutions he will give you some other good install tips for putting an ebox back...
There might be an option to get the rest of your warranty prorated back to you.
In my opinion $3000 is too much. Get back your warranty money if you can and use it to have the repair work done elsewhere.
When we did a couple of skis, we let the micro balloons + epoxy stay a little wet and then laid on the the fiberglass. As someone else stated, you get a chemical and physical bond.
In my experience Bostik FS 940 is very similar to 5200 but seems to remain a little more pliable over time, which might help you in terms of breaking the seal around the 5200 like you're afraid of.
The best price I found when I last purchased was in a case of 12. I just sold the ones I didn't...
Don't do the rope trick. You can bend a crank rod that way or cause other damage.
You need to lock the flywheel.

Tom's foothold looks much easier to turf with one piece.
I was able to add a hinge to my Pancake hold to make a little glove compartment.
(And yes... that is butterfly duct tape)
