The factory connectors suck. Total PITA to get apart. I’ll be replacing mine this winter with either deutsch (expensive but the best) or some amazon cheapies I’ve had good luck with.

When I did my build I had tons of spiderweb cracks. Used a small ball looking burr on the dremel. About the size of a bb. You need to grind along the full length of each crack and down to fiberglass on the gel coated top half. Fill with epoxy / cabosil to get it back smooth. When you get down to...

Very clean ski but at this point I think it would almost be a shame to uncrate it and use it. Might be the only one in the world still in a crate but then again I doubt there’s much of a collector market for it.

Mine is at 120/150. 2.3 NS, 115gr spring. Runs great 1/4 and up but I still haven’t been able to get it quite perfect. Only issue is snapping wot from a crawling speed or in the trough of a wave sometimes it hesitates, sometimes it won’t. Probably just needs a little out on the low screw but...
Funny that this came up. My RN came with a wet jet 61x motor with their intake and 46 SBN. I’ll be rebuilding it this winter and I’m not sure what direction to go with it. I wonder what the performance difference is between dual 38s and a single 46 is on a ported 701. Half the cost and half the...
TDR has a baffled version and a powerspray which doesn’t have baffles. I have the baffled one in my RN with a b pipe. They’re very well made imo and the welds look great. Very small and light. It’s loud but not terrible like everyone makes it out to be. Probably doesn’t hurt to have people hear...
They should be fine. Sea Doo requires a higher standard oil (API TC) and should withstand more abuse than outboard oil (TCW3). I have run the TC spec oil a good bit in my SJ with no issue.

I’m going through this right now actually. The red / brown pair of wires is the start circuit and the other pair is the stop. You can use a test light to check for power at that red wire on the ebox side. Not much else I’m aware of. Multi meters are easy though. Set it to ohms or connection test...
Thanks for your compliments @shockwave538. To tell the truth, I didn't even know about the whole wet foam issue on Yamis when I bought the ski. I was originally just going to generally clean it up, put an aluminum plate over the cracked tray, returf and rattle can paint job. Things kind of snow...
Thanks. I did that because I read a post somewhere that they added strength. I figured for 10 minutes of time and next to no weight they couldn't hurt anything.
Thanks for the input. I know a place with an AC tig that did my exhaust pipe. Those welds were ok but this is a lot more challenging...
I thought I could call this thing done, but I guess these things are never truly done.
I ended up just using the graphics I had since I wasn't paying any more for decals. I cut each piece out individually and mocked them up. Then used masking tape to mark where the edges need to be. Smothered...
I have to agree on the Amazon relay. I got 3 cranks out of mine before it would stick on every time. It wasn't that same model though, it was the gold round one that's sold everywhere. Not a good issue to have, especially if you're out riding with no tools.
Where do you launch at? I go to vanns tavern and there's a beach right next to the ramp that's still above water. I'll be out there at 3 or so today once I get the SJ back together.
I'm down for a ride at Lanier or Allatoona anytime, just set a date.
Definitely lots of time. I didn't keep an exact log, but I'd say I easily spent 400 hours on mine.
Before I did my build I couldn't find much on 1708 mat vs no mat. I saw it was cheaper with the mat and that's what I went with.
That being said, the mat just makes it a bitch to stay stuck...
The first thing I would check is the starter solenoid (relay) in the ebox. Do you have a volt meter? I’d put it in continuity or resistance mode and check for bad connections. Like between the battery ground and the ground in the ebox. That would tell you if you have a grounding issue. Same...
