This would make a great surf motor too, I had mine in the Freak and it was loads of fun in surf with 46's. Really enjoy this motor in flatwater now. Reed Sewell runs this motor in the surf and goes BIG. Great fast revving motor, glws !
I'm currently running a 1/3 less tension spring on FS49'S that I got a good while back from jet world a site online. Been running it for years on 46's too and it really helps with carpal tunnel.
Dunedin Cswy near Honeymoon island just north of Clearwater. Lots of El Niño surf since November, yesterday was chest high and clean. We are getting cold fronts every few days that bring decent fun surf for the west coast standards.
A bad ground wire to the starter will also cause this and ground wires being low in the hull are exposed to elements/corrosion. Hook up a negative jumper cable from negative battery to engine block to rule out bad ground wire would be my first step ( I've had this be the reason before of...
No one has mentioned that the impeller needs colossal torqued with a big wrench, driveshaft tool secured in a vice. There's no issues with it backing off then using never seize on the threads.
